Maddie's p.o.v
I can't help but feel like no one cares.
I wake up to my small bedroom in the shelter, I'm not complaining , I so very great full that I have a "home" I just wish I was old enough to leave, I'm seventeen. As I'm getting ready I hear my phone go off,
"Hello?" I say
" hi is this suicide hotline?" I hear a male voice on the other end
"Um no. Sorry" I say to him
"Oh well they aren't gonna help anyways" I hear him say to him self.
" um can I know your name?" I ask curiously
" sure...I'm Ryder and you are? " he tells me,
"Well Ryder I'm maddie can I ask what's wrong?" Who is this man?
"I want to die maddie" he states bluntly
"Me too I" I whisper to myself
"Why do you want to?" He asks me
"That's a story for another time" I say then hang up realizing I'm going to be late for school. Then I get a text

Ryder: Hey! It's me Ryder I kinda want to keep talking...haha oops dose that sound weird?
I smile,
Maddie: a little but hey you can vent your problems to me anytime...oops that was weird...wait now we're both weird!!
Ryder: ok 😂 ttyl I'm going to school
Maddie: same! Bye
I start walking to school science it's only like three miles away. I walk up the stairs to the door and walk the halls until I find my class and walk in.
"Your late maddie" my teacher states
"Noo there all just early!" I point at the class sarcasticly
My teacher laughs, " sit down" . As I sit in my seat the door opens again.
"Ryder you-" the teacher gets cut of
"Late I know" that voice sounds familiar and she said his name was wait! RYDER oh boy the Ryder mcall called me!! Scary dude...let me fill you in, Ryder is the "bad boy" and he's in a gang so...yeah. Ryder sits down next to me and I silently shake my leg up and down and wait until the bell rings,
"Jesus can you stop shaking your leg" i hear him say to me and I stop instantly and look at him and sheepishly smile,
"Sorry" then I look back down and the bell rings.
