Ice Skating

Saturday night was when you had gone to Lottie's pub with Nick. It was the same night that the smoker had hit on you and you and Nick had actually addressed that the two of you were a couple. You had told Maddie and Kylie about every single thing that had happened that night. They cried and squealed with you at all the right moments. The girls were there for you whenever you needed them so you felt bad that you had been hanging out with Nick more than them. They said they understood, but you could tell they were a little upset. After all, this trip to Chicago was meant for you Kylie to be able to spend time with Maddie.

You had taken the past few days to just do stuff with them, but they insisted that it was ok for you to go out with Nick again. You asked if they were sure it was ok, but inside you were really excited. You loved the time you spent with Nick.

Now it was Tuesday and you had made plans to go ice skating with Nick. The week before had been oddly warm for January, but now it was back to being cold again and the city ice rink had frozen again.

Since the rink was too far to walk, Nick offered to pick you up and drive there. Kylie and Maddie helped you pick out an outfit. Together, you had chosen leggings, fuzzy socks, a warm sweater, a vest, and a cute winter hat. You were putting the final touches on when you heard the horn of Nick's car honk.

You got in his warm car and said, "Hi! How are you?"

"Great now that I'm with you! You look cute today. Well, actually you look cute every day" Nick looked at you responded with an adorable grin.

You giggled and said, "Thanks."

He reached over and intertwined his fingers with yours, using the other hand to drive.

When you got to the rink, you both went up to a stand that was renting skates. Once you got the skates and sat down to put them on you realized you had never skated before. You had been too excited about going out with Nick, that you hadn't thought about how you had never skated before.

"Ugh. I'm going to fall on my butt the second I touch the ice and make a total fool of myself" you thought.

You smiled anyways and walked out onto the ice with Nick. Just like you assumed, the second your foot touched the ice, your leg slid out from under you and you reached out and hung onto Nick. He grabbed you and steadied you.

You blushed, looked up at him, giggled, and said "Thanks."

"That's what I'm here for" he replied with a grin and laugh.

You held on to Nick like your life depended on it, while you got the hang of skating. He had skated before with his friends, so he already knew what he was doing.

You knew you were making a fool of yourself, but you hoped it would come across as cute to him.

Once you had been skating for a little while, it became easier and you were able to let go of Nick without falling. You were even able to focus less on not falling and more on talking to Nick.

You had made a few rounds around the rink when all of a sudden, Nick leaned down closer to you. You felt his hot breath on your ear and then his soft lips press against your cheek. You had been skating, but skidded to a stop and looked up at him. He was just beginning to open his eyes and lean away.

He looked at you, cheeks turning red, and said, "I'm sorry. I just...I-I don't really know what I was doing and I...yeah...s-sorry..."

You looked at him, smiled, and said, "You missed."

He looked back at you with a confused look, and just as he was about to question it, you leaned up and pressed your lips against his. It was then that Nick understood what you meant and kissed you back. He placed one hand in the small of your back and the other on your neck and pulled you close into the kiss. You knew that there were people around, and they were probably watching , but in the moment, it was just you and Nick. You weren't thinking of anything other than your lips touching Nick's for the first time. The kiss felt like it lasted forever, but was probably only a few seconds.

It was even better than you imagined. You had kissed other guys in the past, but you couldn't even compare them to this one. The way your lips felt against Nick's soft, pink lips was a feeling you couldn't describe.

You both pulled away and opened your eyes. You looked up from Nick's lips to his eyes and smiled. He did the same. You stood looking at each other for a few moments before you realized that you were standing in the middle of the rink while others tried to move around you.

You both laughed and then started skating around the rink a couple more times. You couldn't help but replay the moment in your head. It was so perfect, not too short and not too long. You also couldn't help but wonder if he enjoyed it as much as you did.

*Nick's P.O.V*

As I skated around the city rink, hand in hand with Y/n, I replayed the kiss in my head. I wasn't sure at first if I should've even kissed her cheek, but I obviously made the right move. Our first kiss was amazing. I've kissed over girls in the past, but I didn't feel much of anything. But when my lips were pressed against Y/n's I got this feeling that I've never felt before, and it felt really good. I hope she enjoyed the kiss as much as I did and I hope that we will lock lips many more time too.
