Freshman Year

"Go on a date with me." Cole states, his back pressed against the old beat up lockers of Chorale High, his hands stuffed into the pockets of his sweater and his lips tweaked up into a prominent smirk.

Lola sighed, closing her locker quietly before twirling around the dial. "Cole, I told.." Cole sighs, pushing himself off of the lockers to walk next to Lola. She watched his steps carefully, making sure to keep a good distance as they walked down the empty hallways.

"You told me that you can't, but you've never told me why. I know I'm not the most handsomest guy out there, but damn Lola." Cole chuckles lightly as Lola swats at his arm, her eyes rolling as they stop. "It's not that it's just..." Lola trailed off, both their attention brought to the loud noise of doors opening as Heather and her posy make their ways through the hall.

They're dressed in bright colors, practically blinding neon colors compared to the dull, dirt stained walls of the school. Heather bounces she she strides toward them, her eyes trained on Lola.

Lola swallows thickly, her eyes widened slightly as Heather stops in front of her. "Lola Rukin, just the girl I was looking for." Heather smirks, her eyes glaring down at Lola. "I've come to give you a chance to redeem yourself."

Lola furrows her eyebrows, sparing a glance to Cole who looks around bored, his hands stuffed into the front pockets of his jeans. "R-redeem myself?" Lola stutters, clearly confused as to why she would need to redeem herself to Heather after not talking to her and avoiding her for all of summer and the beginning of the school year.

"Did I not make myself clear? Yes - redeem yourself." Heather rolls her eyes, her arms crossed over her chest as she looks Lola up and down. "I - um." Lola is stuck, she doesn't really know what she is supposed to do and she wished Cole would bud in and drag her away.

"Heather." A voice calls from down the hall and Lola stops breathing, the hairs on her back shooting up along with her eyes as Liam makes his way towards them. His fists are clenched, and his nostrils are flaring as he glancing from Heather, to her and the finally to Cole.

"Scar needs you. Something about a ripped skirt." Heather, nods her head before turning back to Lola with a glare. "We will continue this later," She seethes before flipping her hair over her shoulder and walking away. Liam sands there for a bit, starring down at the tiled floor as he uses his thumb to pop his fingers.

He looks up to Cole with a blank expression and hard eyes, his chest moving up and down slowly. "Liam." Cole says coldly, his voice flat and emotionless as he gives him a small nod, wrapping his arm around Lola's lower back.

Liam breathes deeply, his lips twitching slightly into a frown before her recovers, returning Cole's small nod. "Cole," he states simply, his eyes flashing quickly to Lola before turning on his heel and walking down the way Heather had come from.

Lola lets out the breath she had been holding, her shoulders shagging slightly as Cole runs his hand up and down her back reassuringly.

Junior Year

It's Sunday night when Lola finds herself scrolling through her phone, feet thrown over the edge of her bed as she sighs, tossing her phone onto the mattress. "I'm so bored." Eleanor grunts, pushing herself off the carpeted floor with a wide grin. "Lets go out."

Perrie snorts, grabbing her purse while already tying her shoes. "Where though?" Lola bites her lip, thinking of any enjoyable places at this time of the night. Eleanor's eyes brighten as she shoots up, snatching up her purse to look through it before quickly pulling out her wallet.

"What?" Perrie asks, her eyes turned into slits as Eleanor stands to her feet, a large mischievous smile spread across her cheeks as she holds something behind her back. "Lets go to that new club that just opened - Choices?" Lola rolls her eyes, falling back against the bed.

"We can't get into Choices, you idiot." Perrie laughs, standing up next to Eleanor. "She got us fake ID's Lo."

Lola shoots up, her eyes wide as a smile over covers her face.

--

"Well this guy sounds like a straight up asshole."

"He is!" Lola slurs, a large dopey smile spreading across her lips. "I knew I liked you for a reason."

The guy behind the bar chuckles, shaking his head. His name is Louis, Lola thinks she remembers him saying, although she could be imagining it - she's too drunk to think correctly.

"Where are your friends?" Louis questions, tossing his rag underneath the bar before glancing around the large crowd of people. Lola does the same, her eyebrows furrowed as she quickly turns every which way, no sight of Perrie or Eleanor anywhere.

She pouts, turning back to Louis deflated. "I think they left." He scrunches his face, seeming to contemplate something before he snatches up a jacket from behind him, hopping over the bar next to Lola's side.

"Come on, my shift is over and I can't just leave you here, alone, and drunk." Louis sighs, running a hand through his hair as Lola stumbles off of the stool, giving him a small smile when he lends her a hand.

"I don't think I can remember my address though." Lola mumbles lowly as they make their way outside, watching as Louis gives the bouncer a small smile. He sighs, tightening his hold on Lola as he digs into his pockets for his keys. "Guess you coming home with me then - hope you don't mind sharing a bed."

Lola's eyes widen as he opens the passenger door, twirling the car keys on his finger. "What?" He asks, noticing Lola's sudden hesitation he smiles softly. "I'm not going to hurt you - trust me." Lola inhales quickly, before nodding her head and slowly slipping into the car.
