I sat there, reading in the candle light. It was late in the evening. Many creatures roam around the Light Realm when the sun sets. Lucky for me, I have magic on my side. I'm a vesloc. There are only two of my kind, my mother and me. I didn't have my mother to help me, she left a few days after I was born. I had to learn how to control my powers on my own.
I had my bedroom window open to let some fresh air in. My husband, Sage, was under order of the king. He was helping clear a small town of evil, so I am here alone. Our daughter was chosen to be the princess. The queen couldn't have children so she took my first born out of every other baby, mine. I will never see here again, she doesn't know I exist.
A strong gust of wind came through the window. I got up and went to shut it, I noticed a few twigs on the ground, so I figured a storm was coming. I closed the window and heard the front door close. I didn't see anyone looking down from the top of the stairs. I walked down the stairs until there were only a couple left. I still didn't see anyone. As I reached the last step, I was swept off my feet and held like a bride or princess being carried away. My robe fell behind me leaving my back bare. My dress was very low in the back.
I was carried up the stairs and into my room. He gently laid my on the bed. He turned the light off after changing into sweatpants.
"I thought you weren't supposed to come home until tomorrow night," I asked watching him walk around the room to his side of the bed.
"Everything was taken care of. I got to come home and see my baby," he said laying down next to me. I pulled the blanket up and covered my body leaving my arms out. The window bursted open. I snapped my fingers and the window closed and locked.
"I hate that window, it never wants to stay shut," I yawned and nestled into my pillow. Sage moved closer to me and put his arm around me laying his hand on my stomach.
"I miss Zelda," I couldn't help but think of her.
"I do too. Soon, we will have another to keep, love, and raise-"
"Soon? I'm not even through the first trimester. Anything can happen until then," I yawned and closed my eyes. I curled into him missing being held close and having him there. Soon enough, it was morning.
I woke up and went downstairs thinking Sage would be reading the newspaper and drinking coffee. There was a note on the table:
Sheik,
I was called in this morning and thought it be rude to wake you. Whatwas cleared yesterday turned out to be just the beginning of a war. Be safe. I love you.
Love,
Sage
I just wanted to crumble it up and cry. I couldn't remember the last time we spent a full day together. I had to hold it together though. He promised me this wouldn't be forever.
I got to cleaning the house to help pass time. I turned my music up all the way to block out the construction of my gym. I've been in gymnastics since I started walking. I started thinking of Zelda. she would be walking by now. I wish she was here. I could teach her so much.
Once I finished cleaning the house, I went outback and fell asleep in the hammock. I was woken up by rain. I went back in the house and put on some dry clothing. I once again fell asleep on the couch.
