This is my first story so please have mercy on my poor soul. Ok, so this chapter is just an introduction to our MC. It will describe her, attitude, personality, appearance. This is the pilot chapter so to say.
My name is Amor Cruz. I always wondered why my parents never gave me a short name like Ana or Karla. Then again they named one of my two sisters Corazon soo... but like really,
Amor.
They wanted a name to honor my heritage. I've come to terms with my name. My friends used to call me Love They say it's "cute".
I used to live in Laredo, Texas. It wasn't this bustling city where the days were long and the nights were longer. There wasn't a whole to there except go to the mall or outlets. It was an overall boring place but it was home. I got to go to Mexico all the time to visit my family and friends since the border was in 10 miles away. My friends were there, I would help in the community so I was well known, my life was here.
So you can imagine my surprise when my parents decided that we were going to Baltimore. In Maryland.I felt my life crumbling apart.
My dad found a job opportunity as sales executive/translator for a big car company and my mom was able to find a job as marine biologist. They couldn't miss this chance of a well paying job, plus that was my mom's dream job. My sisters and I were forced to move all away across the country to accommodate to my parents new employment. My sisters seemed to enjoy the move but I sure as hell didn't.
It was summer break, and I was about to start my junior year. So my parents gave me a week for me to hang out as much as I wanted with my friends and bid my final farewells before we moved. I spent my days travelling to and from Mexico. That would never be enough. On the final day, all my friends cried as I hugged them like it was the last time we would ever see each other (which I hoped it wasn't).
They all waved in tears as I boarded the airplane and got ready to leave the place I called home. After the day long trip, we struggled to find our new house, getting lost for hours. After what seemed like forever we finally moved in. We were settled into what seemed to me, a nice neighborhood. We ordered some food and went into wishful thinking for the day ahead.
