~Priscilla's P.O.V~
My eyes fluttered open slowly. Bright blue, glowing lights blinded my sight. I was so confused. I slowly attempted to stand up. It felt as if I had slept for an eternity. I bent my left knee with a crackle. My limbs were stiff. I finally stood up, after a series of crackling, popping, releif, and minor pain. I rubbed my eyes to get a better look at my surroundings. My vision cleared. I looked around to see that I was in... a chamber? A tall, clear cylinder in what seemed to be a lab? This was getting stranger by the second. By now, I looked like a lost puppy. It then hit me, how would I escape? I examined the tube I was now encased in. A door handle! Without hesitation I grabbed the handle and slid the door open. I stepped out, squinting as the light became brighter out of the tube. I rubbed my eyes once again, blinking several times. I looked around and saw another door. Perhaps it was a bathroom? My hair could use a good brush through. I opened the door. A metal flight of stairs, much like subway stairs lay before my eyes. I did what anybody would do, walked right up them. After many steps I came across another door. I opened it quickly, I was eager to escape this confusion. I was met with daylight. Green trees lined the background of the sight before me. I stepped out onto a grey, and may I say fresh looking sidewalk. I decided to follow the path and discover where it takes me.
After about five minutes I started to notice people. They were wearing such weird clothes. Maybe I missed something? They each gave me strange looks. Something weird is going on... and I don't like it. I was also confused as to why nobody wanted my autograph... or why there weren't any paparazzi. As, conceited as it sounds... its the truth. I am a famous singer. Priscilla Gladstone is printed everywhere. Lunchboxes, posters, even advertisements since companies are always using me to promote their merchendise. They would put my songs in the backround of scenes in movies. I came across a restraunt. On cue, my stomach grumbled. I strutted in. People turned their heads to see who came in. Instead of looking back to their tables, they held their gaze. When they turned back to their tables, they were whispering to eachother with confused faces and stealing glances at me. I ignored it going on about my day. The lady ahead of me in line just finished her orders. I moved up. The girl at the register was looking down when I came up, she was doing something at the register. "And what would you like ma'am?" She questioned, still looking down. "Actually before I order I would like to know where the restrooms were located, please?" I replied. At the sound of my voice she looked up, seeming to recognize it. The whole restraunt seemed to fall silent. "Uh, down the hall, and to the left?" She answered more as a question than a statement. She seemed to be in deep thought, confusion overwhelming her thoughts. She hadn't even stopped looking at me, I didn't stop looking at her either. "Thank you" I replied with a smile, nodding my head. I turned around and headed to the bathroom. When I entered the bathroom I could hear the talking starting up again through the door. I looked up at the mirror. "Oh My God" I thought aloud.
Now I know why so many people were looking at me funny! My makeup was smeared, much like a raccoon. One of my bright green leg warmers was up, the other completely down in a cuff around my ankles. Half of my naturally poofy and curly hair was sticking up, the other down. I reached in my light blue jean pockets. I pulled out bright pink lipstick, a credit card, concealer, a twenty dollar bill, eyeliner, and my mini (and lucky) brush. When your hair is as untamed as mine, you learn a trick or two. I tamed my hair, well as tamed as it could get... Which wasn't very tamed. I washed my face and re-applied my makeup. I pulled up my legwarmers and tied my shoelace. After fixing myself up, I walked out of the restroom feeling less confused, and fresh. When I came into view of the other customers, the room filled with gasps.
I knitted my eyebrows in confusion... that was weird. I decided to brush it off once again. I walked back up to the girl at the register who looked so confused. "I will have a salad and a coca cola please." I requested with a smile. "Sure thing..." She replied. She looked hesitant, and uneasy... as if she was trying to figure something out. After a moment she handed me my requested food in a bag, my drink in a plastic cup with a lid and straw. " Thank You" I said. I grabbed the bag and sat down at a seat next to the window. I ate awkwardly, since people were watching me as I ate. When I finished my food and drink I emptied it into the garbage, I kept my cup because I was still kind of thirsty so I thought I would get a refill. I walked back up to the register, people still staring at me. "Hello, could you be ever so kind as to refill my cup of coca cola please?" I politely asked. "Mhm" She said, seeming to have been thinking long enough to figure something out.
She finished filling the cup of cola again, walking back swiftly. "Thank you so much" I said, getting out the twenty. I handed her the money as she handed me the delicious, bubbly liquid in her hand. As she handed me my change she looked at me once again. "You know... you look alot like an old singer, Priscilla Gladstone." She said. I smiled and chuckled. "That's because I am Priscilla Gladstone." The whole room including the register lady erupted into fits of laughter. "Good one kid, Priscilla Gladstone died in 1980. Plus, I think I would know if I was In the same room as a legendary singer!" A man managed in between laughter. "I am not dead!" I screamed, annoyed. That earned even more laughter. The girl at the register then choked out. "Y- You actually t- think y-you can te- ell us you're the queen of rock! T- That died ov-ver 30 y-years ago!" I looked down " Thirty years ago..." I mumbled to myself. "Well if she died 30 years ago, what year is it n-now?" I stumble over my words, confused as ever. "Haha! This lady is crazy!" A man shouted. "It's 2014!" It is 2014???
