Vic's POV —
It's been about three months since Diana left. I've been doing rather good with all this. We Facebook message almost everyday, and some days we'll Skype each other. It's kind of like she never left, aside from the fact that I can't hold her or kiss her. Our relationship is still going strong.
After Diana left, I've been working on this one song I decided to write. I've been making it specifically for Diana.
I just want her to know—through this song—that no matter what, I'll always fight for her and she's the one I want to be with. I'm not going to let my fears or anything else get in the way of something that could be real. I'd take any risk to be with Diana. I'd walk miles and miles, cross oceans, travel to the moon and back, or even sell my soul just be with Diana. She's really special to me and I just want her to know that.
I sat here on my bed with my guitar, trying to finish up these last few lyrics. I've been working on this song for quite some time, and when I present it to Diana, I want it to be perfect. No screw ups, no mistakes, nothing. I hope to bring a smile to her face when she hears this song.
"Hey, bro. Working on that song still?" Mike asks as he walks into my room. I look at him and just nod.
"Can I hear it when it's finished?" Mike quietly asks.
"Sure thing, bro. Take a seat. I just finished it." I smile up at Mike. Mike grabbed my computer chair and turned his attention towards me.
I strummed on my guitar to start the song.
Mike's POV —
Vic put in so much feeling when singing this song. It's a beautiful song; I must admit. I know Diana would love to hear it. I'm just glad Vic found someone he can be happy with. He was crushed on the day she left and he has been ever since, but at the same time I've never seen him so happy before. Diana brought true happiness into his life, and I can't thank her enough for that.
"Vic, man, that was seriously incredible." I say as Vic ends the song.
"Really? Thanks. Do you think Diana will like it? 'Cause I worked really hard on this song and tried to make it as perfect as I could for her." Vic says all in one calm breath.
I get up and pat Vic on the back before walking out of the room, "Bro, I know she will love it. It'll probably bring her to tears."
"I don't want to see her cry. I want to see her smile."
"I'm pretty sure she will smile as well. When are you going to show it to her?" I curiously ask.
Vic smiled, "Tomorrow. We'll be together 3 months tomorrow, and I want to Skype her and sing it for her."
"Well, good luck with that." I give Vic a thumbs up then walk out of his room.
I was walking down the hall when I heard my mom call my name from downstairs. I go down the stairs to see what was up.
As I make it downstairs, I see Savannah standing there. I hurriedly walk over to her and give her a hug. "Hey, Savannah."
She gracefully gives me a hug back, "Hey, Mike."
I grab her and walk her to the living room. We sat on the couch and chatted for awhile.
"So, what brought you over to my ghetto ass house?" I jokingly ask.
"Just wanted to see the ghetto ass boy who lives here." Savannah smiles and laughs.
I smirked at her, "Oh, Vic is upstairs."
Savannah laughed. "You're a jerk. Fine, let me rephrase that. I came to see the younger ghetto ass brother who lives here."
"I'm not ghetto. But, what are you?" I chuckle.
Savannah smirks, "Between the two of us, I'm the awesomely awesome one, and you're just the lame-o who follows the awesome person around."
"Jerk." I quietly say and act as if I'm mad.
Savannah turns my head so I face her. She then grabs my cheeks and slightly pinches them. "Aw, don't get so butthurt. You're still a cute lame-o." Savannah says in a rather baby voice.
"But, yes, I did come over to see you. I actually came to tell you about Diana." Savannah says as she becomes serious again.
I gave off a confused look, "Diana? Why tell me about her? Shouldn't you be giving Vic updates about her?"
"Technically yes. But, tomorrow morning, Diana, her parents, and younger brother are driving back up here for winter vacation. They want to be back up here for the holidays." Savannah explains.
"So, what does that have to do with not telling Vic?" I ask.
"Diana didn't want to tell him because she wanted to keep it as a surprise. Her parents and brother are staying at a hotel while up here, but she'll be staying with me. Well, on New Years Eve I'm throwing a party, which you and Vic are invited to. Obviously Diana will be there. So, until then we have to keep it on the down low about Diana coming to visit." Savannah explains.
I nodded my head in agreement. Of course I could keep this a secret. Wait! Tomorrow is Diana and Vic's 3 month anniversary. He wanted to sing that song for her. How could we even keep it a secret?
"Wait, how can we keep it on the DL, when tomorrow is their 3 month anniversary? Vic wanted to Skype her tomorrow and sing this song he wrote for her. Diana is leaving tomorrow morning, though."
Savannah sighed, "We have to just let him think whatever he's going to think when she doesn't accept that Skype call. We have to keep this quiet. She wants to see him smile like he's never smiled before."
I just nodded. No words to say. This was going to be hard to keep from him.
"Wait, Vic wrote a song for Diana?" Savannah smiles big, "I want to hear it!"
I laugh at Savannah's excitement, "Let's go up to Vic's room then. I'm sure he'd love to have you hear it, that way you could give him feedback on if she would like it not."
Savannah jumped up from the couch and ran to the stairs. Her excitement was crazy, but cute. I followed behind her and made my way up to Vic's room.
"So, you obviously realized Savannah is here." I laugh as I enter Vic's room and see Savannah sitting in his computer chair.
Vic laughs, "Yeah, she told me she wanted to hear the song I wrote. I was just about to play it."
Once again, I take another seat and relax as Vic plays the song.
I look over to Savannah as Vic finishes the song. I see her wiping away a few tears that are falling down her cheeks.
"Woah, Savannah, you okay?" I ask as I rush over to her.
She just giggles, "Yes I'm fine. That was just a beautiful song. Beautifully sang and written. Diana will surely love it. And this is coming from her best friend."
I look over to Vic who is smiling, then he speaks, "Exactly what I wanted to hear."
