THE PROLOGUE:
Leaves fell from the rhododendron hedges across a tiny path of bricks –the wind surges like the mighty tides of the seas. At the centre of the lonely patio, a hollowed acacia tree stood firm; appearing that it’s been there for quite a long time –even longer than any other thing could. Hanging from an empty branch; barren of any leaves– a modest rusty swing sways as the tempest blew the golden foliage of dried leaves; making it appear like a familiar sight -the dance of autumn. The old floors cricked as tiny obscure steps rested on the cracked oaken planks of the desolated cabin –just only a few yards from the acacia tree. Pictures with acquainted faces covered in dust surrounds the cabin’s walls –the old piano seems to tie the whole living room into a timeworn spectacle of melancholia and nostalgia.
“How does it feel…? To be ALIVE” a wavering voice transcends into a shapely shade of white cloth coursing along the cascades of the wind through the gaps above the holed roofs; through the broken windows from the far sides of walls; and across an old beaten door which seems to had been opened a long time before –a strange greeting from a forgotten past.
One by one, his shadowy hands sift every broken toy and pieces of unrecognizable things scattered all throughout the floor –broken things have this compelling force which makes us understand an unsung feeling of a light-hearted smile imbued with a thumping sense of guilt.
Radiant pillars of light descends from the calm clear sky finding their way into the crevices and openings along the beams and posts that support the ruined roof –“How delightful it would be…? To feel the light” spoken by the enigmatic entity which started to take shape.
The flowing white cloth was filled with an unknown force as it draws in a violent tempest filled with dust and dead leaves –the cloth was then worn by a figure; it was of a young man.
The mysterious man began to soak his fingers within the kind rays of light; his calm and graceful face painted a little smile followed by a genuine resonating happiness of a friendly chuckle–“I remember now… I was alive before….”
The man started to move as he progresses up the lonely stairs but his feet neither touched the floor nor the stairs –he was floating; gracefully and kindly, like a friendly stranger passing by an unfamiliar neighbourhood.
The attic was filled by cobwebs and a great extent of dust –A Chest lingered at the centre of the room. The man approached the chest and it suddenly opened –“I remember now… this is where my heart lays… the reason why I mindlessly visit this place every three decades… soullessly existing in this world… and miserably enduring this responsibility.”
His gentle hands picked up the single content of the large wooden chest –it was a picture of him with someone; a girl with a curly blonde hair and a cheerful and immense smile.
“It’s almost two centuries now, my dear… My life – I cannot wait to see you again along with all our loved ones… a few years from now… we’ll be together again… my contract will be fulfilled –but for now…” the loving voice was interrupted by a bolt of lightning that rushes from the sky –the clear heavens was filled with unforgiving clouds that whips a crackling sound of thunder every now and then.
The chest closed immediately along with the fragile picture –where it was safe; where it had been, always.
The facade of the man holding the picture before, changed; his clothes changed from radiant white into the blackness of an eclipse; the warm and gently voice transforms into a mighty and unforgiving tone– “I am THANATOS, the wielder of the end –What were your intentions coming here and interrupting my peace!?.. I will lay waste to anything that’ll disturb my precious moment… Even if it’s you, Akio… even if this conveys going against the might of JUPITER”
The lightning bolt started to reveal something that appears to have a live figure – it was another man; clothed with an oriental garb and on his sides, two objects were fastened –it was swords. “I meant no disrespect Nathan, but I need your help, now! -I thought I could hold them longer so that you and the others could glimpse into their pasts once more. But without anyone by my side –Even I, was easily outmatched” the intruder said as he gasped for a moment to breath; he was covered by a glowing outline -an electrifying silhouette.
“I guess it cannot be help, we must inform the others –the time has come again for us to face the Eaters –the destroyers of both life and death” the two entities vanished from thin air as these were the last words spoken that day on that old longing place –the same cabin that sheltered a young couple in times long past; Anna Stewart and Nathan Tosser.
