"H-hi." I said, staring into his beautiful Emerald green eyes. He smiled and picked up his duffle bag. I bent down to pick up my books and bag, keeping my eyes fixed on his.
"Well, I guess I'll see you later." He said getting up. He gave me a quick smile and I blushed, hoping he hadn't seen me. I stared down the school hallway until he turned and disappeared. And that's where it started.
(MY POV)
Hello... Um, hi. My name is Ali. I'm 16. I just recently moved here a couple of days ago from England. I didn't know how to fit in with the Americans. But I know I am gonna find a way. It's been about 3 months since my mum went missing, and I don't think that we are ever gonna find her, especially since it's been like, 3 months. I have to move here because my dad is on a business trip in Germany and I had the choice to either stay in England with my Aunt, who smells like licorice and wet cats, or come to America with my brother. He's 16, like me. And before you ask, yes, yes we are twins. I hate him, but I love him... Doesn't make sense...
Well anyways, judging on the introduction, I'm pretty sure what you're thinking... OMG YOU'RE GONNA FALL IN LOVE!! Well yes. But you won't find out who he is until we actually get past this part. Anyways, my brother's name is Harry. And don't say Harry Styles! Because if my brother were Harry Styles, then I wouldn't be writing a book right now. But everyone does say that he looks like him. Which he actually does, only with grey eyes, like mine.
CHAPTER ONE: DETENTION
Okay, so the whole story of me falling in love starts when I was in detention for daydreaming. I know that's a stupid reason to have to go to detention, but not unless it's your 5,000th time getting caught daydreaming in class! Okay okay, I was exaggerating... A little bit... OKAY ALOT! I guess I should stop asking myself why my grades are so low, eh?
Okay, I was in detention (and I was having SOOO much fun... Get it? I used sarcasm... No? Mmk.) being bored of just sitting in a chair that seems to be making my bum more numb by the minute. Then, he walked in. He had nerd glasses that were lime green, which is my favorite color. He had a mixture of green-colored plaid shirt with a lime green bow tie. He was pretty short, too. He sat two seats behind me on the next row.
At that moment, I immediately thought 'Oh my goodness... This is going to be a bad detention.'
"Okay! You two are the little trouble makers, eh?", said our very mean principal, Mr. Crabgrass, but I call him Mr. CrapBag. "Well then, get your iPads out and get on the Notes app and write me a 500 word essay on why you are here and how you will be better behaved after this whole week of detention is over. You young children will stay here until you are finished! No questions asked, no exceptions! Get to work!" He said, leaving the room and slowly closing the door, giving us a look that said 'If you cause trouble, you'll have a very bad punishment!'
The boy and I groan. I lazily stare at my iPad on my desk, wishing that if I stared at it for a long enough time, a unicorn could fly into the room, take me away to some sort of awesome land, and give me like, a gazillion pounds! Or should I say dollars? I am in America, after all. I opened it up and unlocked it, covering my screen in case the boy saw it.
I went to the Notes app and began. The title was 'The Detention Essay'. Seemed crucial to have a title that wasn't all, I don't know, predictable I guess. I started the essay with 'My sincere apologies to all of my teachers. I have done wrong. I should not have been daydreaming in class. It is not appropriate.'
But then I began to wonder what the boy sitting behind me looked like. I didn't see his face. But I know he had spikey black hair with a green streak on the left side of his hair. I began to wonder if that was even an appropriate dress code for hair! I was too scared to turn around and look at him. I kept on thinking about those nerdy glasses though. I could tell he was wearing glasses because of the little thingies that go behind your ears.
