When She Was Once Happy

Laser Tag

"Hey! How are you feeling Lucy?" Erza approached behind Lucy as they walked through the halls. Lucy just smiled in response. "Still can't talk?" Lucy sighed, shaking her head in response. "Well if you need anyone, we're al here!" Lucy smiled. Lucy immediately went into the school's bathroom and looked in the mirror. Lucy practiced talking, however nothing came out. She tried forcing the words, but nothing. Her mouth formed all types of shapes. She panted, while staring into the sink. Lucy turned on the water, splashing her face with water. She turned the sink water off and stared at herself in the mirror. Was Michelle right? Was she starting to get ugly? Or was she just ugly this whole time?
Lucy quirked her head to the side as she examined her features in the mirror. A couple pimples crossed her forehead and her hair wasn't even combed. Sighing, Lucy dragged her fingers through her knots, yanking her head to the side.
Taking a deep breath, she released her fingers(once her hair was combed). She picked her bag up from the tiled ground and swung it around her arm. Lucy grabbed a brown paper towel from the dispenser, drying any remaining drops of water off. She placed it in the small trash bin underneath, and swung the bathroom'a door opened. She spotted a familiar salmon-haired guy. She placed one foot in front of the other, debating on whether or not to go say hi. Shaking the thought out her head, she gave herself a fake smile and ran towards Natsu's back. She tapped on his left shoulder.
He cocked his hand back in confusion. "Oh hey Luce!" Lucy walked next to him and nodded him with that as her greeting. "Hey I was wondering if you wanted to hang out later?" Lucy's eyes widened as a faint blush appeared across her cheeks. She nodded. Natsu grinned, while giving her a thumbs up with his left hand, "great!"

Lucy's eyes widened as the two entered a laser tag building. Everything was so cool and space-like. There were glow in the dark arcade games to her right. The games rested on a floor, slightly higher than the regular floor. Lucy glanced to her right and saw a couple of bowling lanes. Then, her eyes widened at the laser tag in front of her. Natsu walked over to the brown desk, in front of the entrance. He pulled his wallet out and handed the clerk his credit card, "everything." The lady nodded, removing the card from his grasps. She slid the card down the machine, as a small receipt exited along with the card. Natsu smiled kindly, "thank you." He grabbed the receipt and credit card; shoving the card into his wallet, and the receipt into his pocket. "So what should we do first?" He had his hands in his pocket as his eyes examined the building, while they walked passed everything. Lucy grabbed his wrist and pointed at the laser tag section. Her eyes practically begged for her. Natsu chuckled at her excitement and nodded. "Okay. Laser tag first!"

Lucy and Natsu were on opposite teams. Lucy was somehow kicking his ass in the game. She ducked behind a glow in the dark, green spotted styrofoam rock. She peered out the left of it. She noticed a blue light flash behind a fence. Aiming correctly, a buzzed sound could be heard as a little boy whined. Lucy chuckled. She pumped her fist, slightly in the air.
Suddenly, her ears picked up the sound of shuffling feet from behind her. She immediately turned around and noticed Natsu hiding behind a tall blue mat wall. She sprinted up from crouching, and put her back against the other side of the wall. She inched closer to the left as Natsu's head peeked from behind the wall. Immediately, she shot at his vest as it blinked, making a whooooo descending noise. He whined in protest, "awh come on Luce!!" He stomped off toward where all the other people sat. Lucy and one more person remained.

Pew!
Pew!

Shots were fired as Lucy fell to her knees in shock. I was hit...?
Natsu cheered in excitement! "Take that Luce!" She turned her head around and glared at him, which sent shivers down his spine as he quickly plopped back down on the bench, next to other people.
The end of the game bell rung as Lucy and the winner entered the small area with the rest of them. Removing the plastic vests, the winner faced Lucy as he smiled, holding out his hand. "Good game." Lucy smiled, reaching out to grab his hand to shake. "You too" she attempted to say, but instead no words came out. The boy was slightly confused, but chuckled, "not much of a talker are you? Or is it the fact that you can't talk?" Lucy nodded with a disappointed look on her face. The guy pressed his spectacles up toward his eyes. "Well we should meet again some day." He smiled and Lucy nodded, as she waved goodbye and headed toward her friend. Natsu pouted, "that game was rigged." Lucy playfully pushed his side of his arm as she chuckled. "Well at least I can still hear your laugh." Natsu smiled down at her. Surprised by his comment, her eyes widened and she smiled back too with a nod.

Lucy immediately jolted up from bed. It was 8:45! She was 10 minutes late to class. She quickly ransacked her closet, pulling out a completely random outfit. She struggled to get changed, due to her tripping over herself. She sighed, once she finally was able to put her jeans on. Geez, I'm getting fat...
Lucy frowned at her stomach- which wasn't even fat at all.
She headed toward the bathroom and combed her hair. After, she brushed her teeth and put on deodorant. She turned the bathroom light off and walked out her bedroom. She put on a pair of sneakers. "What the hell are still doing here?!" Her father growled as she ran toward the front door. Lucy pulled her tablet out of her purse and started typing. Suddenly, everything she typed repeated in a robotic female voice. She was a fast typer, so it worked perfectly for communication.

"Sorry! Can't talk. Already late. Have fun at your new job!"

Lucy twisted the doorknob as her father huffed to himself.

She jingled her keys into the keyhole. She entered the house, closing the front door, making sure it echoed. Lucy quickly typed on her tablet. Before pressing the speak button, she set the tablet on the kitchen bar table and connected a round white speaker to it. She then pressed the button.

"Dad! I am home." The voice pronounced "am" like "yam" so it was funny to hear. Confused, Lucy removed the speaker and held her tablet in her arm. She wondered throughout the house, typing "dad?" Or "are you here?"

Suddenly, her eyes caught onto something horrific as she swung the bathroom door opened. In the bath tub, laid her old man(fully clothed with a beige t-shirt and boxers on). He was sprawled out in the bathtub. His left hand was placed on the outer part of the tub, while a beer bottle was placed in it. "DAD!!!!" Lucy yelled.

Wait.....

Lucy....yelled?
