You weren't ready for the first day of school. It was hard enough leaving your friends but now your mother seemed to be nagging you on how making new friends is apart of life. She tried to make things better by putting you into a private school, you didn't understand why your mom couldn't let you stay at your school for the last year and move after school ended. Her reasons for moving to California were unknown, you don't think her motives were even clear to herself but she did it anyways.

After you put on the uniform you stood in the mirror finding all the flaws about what you had to wear. Your mom had told you that this school went from preschool to the end of high school, she was probably telling you that for maybe a way to think you guys wouldn't be moving anytime soon. You weren't excited for next year, 6th grade seemed to be like total hell. You've heard many people talk about it and sounds like the exact opposite of how you expected middle school to be when you were in 2nd grade.

"Y/N come down eat breakfast!" Your mother yelled and you ran to the kitchen seeing a bowl of cereal on the table for you. She took a seat across from you to talk, you hated to have this talk it happens every time you have a first day, she says the same thing every time, you've actually memorized the speech. "Mom I don't need your motivational speech for today, I'm fine" She looked at you in denial, you know she really wanted to give you that talk but you just told her that you were fine. "Alright then, ready to go?" You nodded and trailed behind her until you got in the car.

The closer to the school you got the more your nerves got to you. When you got out of the car with your mom you already felt like you didn't belong here, your mom despite her riches you never were to flashy or preppy. You guys walked to the front office making sure everything was in order for you. The front desk lady smiled at you "Nervous?" You didn't answer her, it wasn't that you were trying to be rude but you just are a shy person. You felt your mom nudge you and you nodded slightly, giving her some type of response.

After all the technical stuff was done you were handed a map and the room number highlighted as of were to go. You out of the office trying to navigate yourself around the school. You were looking down at your map when ran right into someone. You fell back and so did the girl, you were both on the floor. "I am so sorry I-" She cut you off "Hey don't be sorry it happens" She got up and extended her hand to pick you up. "I'm Kylie, I can tell you're new to this school" You scratched the back of your neck. "Is it that obvious?" You asked and she nodded "Yea, let me see what room you're in though" You handed her the paper and she smiled "We're in the same class, let me show you"

When you got to the door of the classroom she stopped you. "You don't talk much, do you?" You shook your head and she gave you a small smile. She opened the door and gestured for you to come in. You walked into the classroom to have all eyes on you then Kylie walked in. "This is our new student and her name is..." You didn't even realize that you didn't introduce yourself to your hopefully new friend. "Y/N, my name is Y/N" You introduced yourself to the class. The teacher then got up "Hello Y/N, nice to meet you I'm Mrs. Wilson" The teacher gave you a warm, welcoming smile and then pointed to an empty spot. "You will sit next to Kylie" Kylie led you to where the two of you sat. "I can't wait, we're going to be best friends!" She whisper yelled to you and you nodded.

The rest of the day you were given a numerous amount of welcomes. You were a bit overwhelmed with it all; Kylie assured you that after a while you'll get used to everyone. It was time for lunch, Kylie led you the outside tables where the two of you sat. "A lot of people sit inside, and it's a bit overwhelming. Especially a newbie like you, people love to crowd" She informed you and you nodded getting out your lunch. You looked up to her "You're very popular from what I can tell, why aren't you hanging out with your other friends?" You asked her and smiled at you. "This sounds a bit cliché I know, but there's something different about you it's like you aren't trying to be cool or anything to impress me" She explained and you nodded understanding where she was coming from.
