The Beginning

Soo froze as she heard Yeonhwa, her mind swirling with shock as the princess spoke. "I will be the queen."

"Soo-yah. Are you okay?" Woo Hee's voice shook Soo from her thoughts. "I am okay, Woo Hee-ah. I was just..thinking." Understanding was on Woo Hee's face and she put her hand on the other girl's arm. Trying to distract her friend as they were walking but when they saw the newly crowned Queen of Goryeo, they steered to another direction. But it was too late. The queen had seen them. And started to walk towards them.

"I need to talk to you." the queen demanded. Soo looked at Woo Hee and she nodded. Woo Hee bowed and slowly turned and walked away from the pair.

"Congratulations, Your-" Soo started but the queen stopped her. "I know the king went to you after the bedding ceremony." her face was now red with fury, looking at Soo with contempt.

"I would like to remind you who is far more superior between us. I am the king's wife. I, am the queen. "

Soo kept her face neutral, but inside she was shaking as she took in the queen's words. Danger laced clearly.

The palace was filled with silence as night fell but in a small room situated in one of the many rooms in the palace.

The royal physician laid back Soo's wrist as he started to voice his inspection. "Lady Soo. Your knees as I have told you before, you may not be able to use them in the future. And your heart palpitations may cause complications in your pregnancy." Soo's eyes widened.

"Wh-what did you say? Pregnancy? Me?"
