(Sarah POV)
I wake up in what seems like an interrogation room. I'm sitting at a chair in front of a table with handcuffs in my hands.
I feel my mask in my face. Why didn't they take off my mask? What's their play?
My thoughts are interrupted by a door opening and closing and a figure standing in the shadows close to the door.
The person walks to me. When he's close of the light, I can finally see the person's face.
The one and only Director of SHIELD, Nick Fury.
"Look who we got here. The Black Canary." Fury says.
I stay quiet.
"I am so curious to see who's hiding behind this mask." He says.
When he's about to take my mask off, I say "Stop! If you're gonna do it, I want Steve Rogers in this room when you do it."
"Why?" He asks.
"Just call him here." I say.
He nods towards the one-way mirror of the room.
Some minutes later, Captain America enters in the room.
"You called me, Sir?" He says to Fury.
"Actually, the Canary here did." Fury says.
Steve frowns.
"She asked for you to be in the room in the moment I take her mask off." Fury says.
Steve walks to me.
He takes my mask and my wig off.
He stays in front of me, in shock.
"I'm sorry, Steve." I say, looking in his eyes.
"How is this possible?" He asks, still in shock.
"A lot happened after you died." I say.
"I can see that." He says.
"You know her, Captain?" Fury asks.
"She's my sister." Steve says.
- 1 hour later -
After they found out my identity, they got out of the room.
I've been in this room for God knows how long.
My thoughts are interrupted by the door opening and Fury stepping inside of the room.
"Okay, Mrs. Rogers, it's time for some questions." Fury says and sits in the chair opposite of mine.
I stay quiet.
"So, your file says that you were kidnapped in 1948. In 1950, the police presumed you dead and now, in 2010, you're standing right in front of me. Care to explain?" Fury says.
"Not everything written in history is true." I say, sarcastically.
"You think this is funny? You killed I don't know how many people." Fury says. I can see he's quite mad.
"54." I say.
"What?" He asks.
"I killed 54 people. None of them were innocent, though." I say.
"Did they deserve to die?" He asks.
"Why don't you go ask that to the ones who made me kill them?" I ask, raising an eyebrow.
"How did HYDRA catch you?" Fury asks.
"It was just a normal day. I was at home and decided to go to the grocery store to buy something for dinner. It was late, like 6pm or so. If my brother was alive at the time, he would've told me to be careful, that it was too late to wonder around the streets. I didn't care if something happened to me, I didn't have anything to live for. You could say I had a death wish at the time. And then, everything just happened so fast. After I got out of the store, I felt a pinch in my neck and then everything went dark. When I woke up, I was in a cell." I explain, calmly. I should be crying or something but, I don't cry since the whole torture stuff.
"And then you were trained." He says.
"Tortured, and then trained." I say.
"Okay. I got everything I needed." Fury says and gets out if the room.
I look at the one-way mirror. I bet my brother heard the whole thing.
I look away and look at my handcuffs.
