SCHOOL PARTY, 2013.
I'd gotten to this party less than an hour ago, and I'm already drunk. On one side of the room there's a wet tshirt contest, and on the other side there are dozens of teenagers surrounding what seems to be a gambling machine. I took a sip of my vodka, feeling the burning sensation of the liquid tingle the back of my throat. I bumped into a gorgeous brunette, who let out a blood curdling scream. I furrowed my eyebrows, unsure of what this baby-faced doll was screaming about. I looked down and realized, oh shit, I just spilt my entire cup of freezing cold vodka on her shirt. The pink lace of her shirt was dripping down beads of the clear acid. I widened my eyes and bit my lip gently.
"Um, aren't you going to get me a towel or something?" The girl looked up at me with anger in her eyes. I quickly rushed into the kitchen to grab a milky white towel to dry her up. I ran back and handed her the cloth. She dabbed the shirt down gently and handed it back to me. "Thanks."
"No problemo," I clicked my tongue and threw the towel down on some dark skinned gal who was breakdancing on the floor. "I'm Lauren, by the way."
"Camila," The girl cheekily smiled at me, " Camila Cabello." Camila tucked a piece of her chocolate brown hair behind her ear and looked down, causing the hair to fall back down over her pale face. She giggled slightly and put it back behind her ear once again.
"You new? I don't think I've seen you before," I say, "there are tons of Katelyn's and Ashley's and whatsoever, but I've never heard of a Camila attending the school."
Camila nodded and interlaced her fingers together. "My father decided to move down here from Colorado. He got offered an amazing job, and placed me in the first school that came up on Google."
"Well, Camila, you're gonna love it here." I grinned at her playfully. "My dad works from home, and all my mom does is watch Dr. Phil over and over."
"Dr. Phil is amazing." Camila frowned at me, swatting my arm lightly.
"Yea, my mom sucks his dick. She loves him a ton." I pursed my lips and raised my eyebrow. "Um, do you wanna go outside? There's supposed to be a shooting star."
Camila nodded and smiled joyfully. I led her to the balcony, where there was already a ton of people. I looked at Camila. The reflection of the stars danced in her eyes. She brought a finger up and traced her finger among the dozens of constellations framing the sky.
"Look! There's the bull," She exclaimed, "See the four dots there? Those are forming the bull!" Gosh damn, she was adorable. I followed her finger and sure enough, there was a bull, swaying back and forth between the stars. I nodded and placed my arm on her upper back.
"Lauren, look how beautiful." Camila chuckled. Suddenly, a ray of light flashed across the sky. "The shooting star, make a wish, Lolo."
I laughed at the nickname she'd already given me. My heart lurched forward. I didn't believe in wishes... Just then, Camila's phone rang. She turned to me and held up a finger. I bit my inner cheek and watched as she chatted away on her periwinkle Iphone. She looked at me a pointed backward.
"I gotta go." She said drowsily, "Let's exchange numbers?"
"Uh, yea," I whipped out my phone and traded it with hers. I typed in my number shakily, and gave her phone back. "Smile!" I pressed on the camera icon as Camila posed for the picture. She smiled and held up a rock-and-roll sign. I took the picture, laughing in the process. She held up her phone to me, indicating that she was going to take a photo. I stuck out my tongue and did a peace sign. She giggled and started to make her way back to the front door. "Bye, Camz!"
"BYE, LOLO!"
