"Jackie, i know i work at a coffee shop but do you really have to slurp down everything that comes off of my employee discount? You have had quite a few whip cream mustaches this past week. Might be time to cut down kiddo before your espresso jitters catch up with you" I couldn't help but tease my best friend as she continued to gulp down her freshly brewed caramel mocha, a small stream of the drink running down her slightly pointed chin. She tips her cup back to get the last few drops, licking her lips as she sets the cup down on the dark wood counters in front of the both of us. She crosses her slender arms over her chest, her signature dazzling smile coming into view that she was known for.
"Tsk Tsk Tsk" She made these noises with her tongue clicking against her teeth, her upper half bending over the counter to lean closer to me. "My Caffeine high will never go down and i know your sarcasm certainly won't either my dearest Bella."
Jacqueline Marsh aka "Jackie" also known as my best friend since fourth grade when she moved here from San Francisco, California. She came up to me the very first recess we had together and we were quickly sisters from other misters. Ever since that day we have been connected by the hip even though we seemed to be complete opposites.
She had bouncy and full golden hair that she never had to do anything to since it always looked perfect. While my hair just laid in layers along my shoulders, my naturally dark strands curling ever so slightly near the tips.
Her lips full and a nice rosy color, as mine were broad and quite nude with a prominent cupid's bow. She always had her makeup perfect, contouring and highlighting to the gods. I always just put on some mascara and cherry flavored chap-stick, myself being lucky enough to have remotely clear skin.
She had sun kissed skin and i of course got the more fair end of the stick, but i didn't mind. I just got sun burns more easily. The only thing that I could be proud of when compared to Jackie was my eyes. She said she was always jealous of them.
She had dark and slightly dull brown eyes, them still being pretty in a certain light. Mine are a bright sapphire blue. They sparkled and caught each light perfectly. I am happy with them.
I am Bellamy Price after all, average senior who works at a coffee shop. Seemed like a dream to some people. I just enjoyed the sweet, brewed smell and the tips that came with it. I glance down and adjust my name tag, the name "Bella" gleaming against the lights above us.
She pats my shoulder with her perfectly manicured hand, her nails being the color of a fresh lemon. She really likes the color yellow. I roll my eyes in response to her statement, taking her empty cup to toss it in a bin below the counters.
A few other employees bolted around the shop, acting as if they were the customers on a hyper trip. My eyes follow them for a little bit before they stop near the front doors, the familiar jingling of the bells connected to them filling the coffee bean smelling building with a sweet noise. The sight wasn't so sweet though.
I could already smell the expensive perfume destroying the wonderful bean aroma that had been created. It was the three most popular girls in school, coming in for their random coffee stops.
They normally went to the one closer to main street but i suppose they felt like making the extra trip. Jackie took out her phone and i could only assume she started distracting herself with Candy Crush Saga, her eyes shifting back and forth as she had a concentrated look on her face.
I reached a free hand down and picked up a clean rag, occupying myself with making the counters sparkle so i could avoid glares or sour looks. They came my way though as i could see three figures glide there way into a tiny table next to the front counters. Their cheap and dry giggles roamed about, my eyes finally coming up to notice no one is helping them yet. I sigh and groan, dropping the rag into a drawer.
