After a long discussion they start speaking English again. "Sunny should know the truth, sooner than later." Pisces speaks up for the first point in that meeting. She continues looking at her nails, seemingly bored.
Aries speaks up, "That's your job. Once you meet her you tell her. That's always how it's been."
"It's different this year, Aries. I can feel it." Pisces looks up at the girl across the table from her. "What about last time_"
"You don't get to talk about last time." Aries cold voice is actually surprising. She doesn't usually act like this. Not this extreme. She sighs before closing her eyes and wiping her face. "Last time was an exception." She focuses less on Pisces and more on the others.
"I'm tired of having to explain this to her life after life after life."
"It's your one freaking job Pisces, if you can't handle it you're wo_"
"Aries." Taurus breaks the fighting up pushing Aries back down into her seat. "It's understandable that Pisces doesn't want to share the news to Sunny that we've been hiding since we met her."
Aries rolls her eyes, "Whatever, let's put it to a vote. Like old times. 3/4th's vote. Starting with me, obviously." Aries smirks again before surprisingly voting yes. Then I hear a series of yes's. Everyone agrees.
"Now that that's settled, Gem's the one that can tell her." Taurus says with a smile.
Aries rolls her eyes, "I still think Pisces should do it."
"It's your turn to tell Sunny the news Aries! You go see how it freaking feels." Pisces screams at Aries, who sits there quietly staring at the girl. Pisces goes to the door, but it doesn't open. She tries again, and again.
Aries stands grabbing Pisces shoulders and softly pushing her away from the door. "Stop, or you'll hurt yourself." Aries then leaves without a problem. Pisces hand presses against where the door would be if closed, but she doesn't step through. She then takes her hand away looking at her feet. Taurus hugs her before leaving. Gemini separates again before walking out. One by one they leave. Scorpio lingers for a moment whispering something into Pisces ear. Pisces grabs his hand squeezing it slightly. Soon they're all gone but Pisces. Pisces moves back to the tables her eyes locked on me. She sighs running a hand through her hair. Her eyes are locked on mine. Tears start to swell in her eyes, but she blinked them away.
"You are so pathetic." She looks directly at me and I feel my heart drop. How did she know I was here? She was the closest to me, maybe she heard something. Pisces leans in closer touching the edge of the mirror where the handle should be. "You can't even open a door before she can. You idiot." She shakes her head, putting her hand flat on the mirror. She covers half her face before whispering, "Idiot." She glares before a tear rolls down her cheek. She stops it and takes a deep breath. That's when she leaves the room. At this point my eyes are burning with tears and I'm practically bawling. I can't believe that someone could look at themselves with so much hatred.
I barely notice Gem walk in and open the mirror. I fall out into Gem's arms grabbing onto him for support. We fall the the ground landing on our knees. I bury my face in his collar with my arms slung over his shoulders. We sit here, silently.
The door opens once again revealing Mini. "You can't keep bringing her into meetings Gem. Wait, why are you crying? I'm so sorry we didn't tell you the truth. Honestly we didn't have a lot of a choice." I shake my head before telling them what I just witnessed.
Mini looks rather confused. "Pisces has always been hard on herself, but she... I didn't expect her to hate herself. She's always so nice to me when Aries isn't around."
"I want to meet her. Now." I manage to get out before wiping away my tears.
"She left. She doesn't like staying around after meetings. She's probably going to catch a plane back to Greece. I'm sorry, Sunny." I simply nod, I'm tired of this already. "How about Gem walks you home. I'll cover for you, the story is that you went to check on Sunny because she didn't get to stay for the party, ok? We're going to pretend you told her. And Sunny, please don't tell them you were here." I don't promise, but look down at my feet. She accepts it though and Gem walks me home.
"Do you want to hear a story?" He questions after the silence that fell upon us for a good ten minutes.
"Yes." I practically beg.
"Once upon a time..."
"If this is about a princess and prince you are so not going to be finishing that sentence."
He laughs a little wrapping an arm around my shoulder. "Once upon a time all the Greek Zodiac's had strange personalities. They would all fit into a perfect stereotype. It all differed on what Zodiac they were. There were two opposing personalities that couldn't stand each other. They didn't even act like themselves when the other's near."
"Aries and Pisces." I fill in the names and he nods.
"They were complete rivals, if you ask me, it was Aries fault, but that's just my opinion. Pisces doesn't see it that way. Aries has always been considered the "bad guy" when Pisces is concerned. She's rebellious whilst Pisces was nurturing. She seeked independence, but Pisces depends on everyone she meets." I nod understanding what he's saying. They were practically meant to hate each other. "Aries isn't bad, she has reasons to why she doesn't like Pisces, and I respect that."
"Did they ever get along?"
He seems to get a little smile. "They tried to once, a long time ago. It didn't end well at all." I can already tell the stories over by his look. I see the house come into sight and smile at Gem.
"Thanks for walking me home. Do you want to come in for a minute for something to drink?" He gets a strange smile which draws my attention to his mouth.
"No, thanks though." I smile before leaning up and giving him a kiss on the cheek. I tell him a quick goodbye and walk inside. I go up to my room taking a quick shower and getting into bed. Today was eventful, and I'm emotionally tired. I fall asleep easily.
The next morning I feel light stinging my eyes and look up to see Aries pulling up my blinds. "Wake up weirdo." She smiles at me with all the animosity of last night cleared from her face.
"You're an even bigger weirdo. You're a Zodiac for god's sake."
"Yeah, but that means I know Greek gods, so." She crosses her arms over her body.
"What Greek gods?"
"My personal favorite is Mars." She smiles before throwing the blankets off me. They were really warm... "He's like my dad, but cooler. He's the offensive war god."
"So who's your real dad then?" I question quietly finding another shirt.
When she doesn't answer I look back. "My biological dad left when I was younger. I went looking for him... turns out he had a girlfriend. Last time I checked they got married." She shrugs seeming like she honestly doesn't care.
"That... sucks."
"Yeah. It does." She crosses her arms going to the closet. She picks out a swimsuit, throws it away, and walks out of the room. What the hell? She comes back a minute later with a pink bikini in her hand. "Take this. I don't want it." She throws it at me before grabbing a cover up from my closet. It's black and has long see through sleeve. "Put it on." That's when I notice her coverup. How did I not notice that before.
"Are we going swimming today?"
"Yeah, at the beach. Taurus and Cancer are coming."
"But Cancer hates me. If you gave him a fish and told him you wouldn't hurt him if he attempted to smack me with it again, he would." The bruise surprisingly went away already. Funny how that works.
"That's a little extreme, but he's shy. He doesn't actually hate you. I know that much." She shrugs before grabbing my phone off the nightstand. She easily gets into it even though I don't remember giving her my passcode, ugh.
"Then why does he avoid me?"
"I don't know. You can ask him today." She rolls her eyes before grabbing a bag and throwing it at me. It's packed with my wallet, that has an extra two hundred dollars in it, might I add. A towel, some flip flops, and a surfer suit. "Let's go." She hurries down the stairs by jumping down them. I take my time, but she runs out of the house before I get half way down the stairs. Ugh. I hurry down and out of the house to see her jumping into a car. The door's left open so I get in but before I even shut the door they drive. Ugh. The door shuts itself with a hard thump and I hurry to put my seatbelt on.
"Hey." I mumble to Taurus and Cancer. Cancer says hello with a small voice, and continues looking out the window.
Taurus smiles and says, "It's been so long. A whole twenty four hours." I find myself smiling and Aries is rolling her eyes.
"Oh, yeah, so long." I roll my own eyes with a small laugh.
Random conversations come and go with Aries blasting her music the entire time. Soon enough we're at the beach. I get out of the car viewing the decently quiet beach in front of us. Surprisingly the beach isn't extremely packed. I like that. "Well, I'm gonna go attempt to not suck at surfing. Have fun you two." They run towards the beach and into a small tent thing. They run back out completely dressed for surfing and with two surfboards in tow. Aries dives straight for it, but Taurus struggles past the waves.
"Put your back into it." I hear her yell from here and laugh a little. I look over to see Cancer staring at them with a smile of his own.
"They'd make the cutest couple." I smile and laugh at the two.
"If you say that to them they'll kill you. They'll end up together I bet. If they don't then I will no longer believe in love."
I smile at Cancer, but as soon as we make eye contact he turns away. I see a couple kids making a sand castle and point. "Let's make the best sandcastle this beach has ever seen." I expect him to say no, but he smiles and nods happily. We run into some of the stores and buy buckets and shovels. We didn't come prepared for this, but we're now ready. I take water and start bringing it up to our designated sand castle spot. After a lot of water Cancer has it looking pretty good. I start helping and once we finish the giant sand castle it's been hours. I can't believe how good we did though. I smirk and take my phone out of my bag. I ask a random person to take a picture and we stand behind our masterpiece. Once the pictures done I give Cancer a look and he kind of smiles.
"I've been wanting to apologize for what happened. I didn't mean to smack you in the face with a fish."
I laugh and wrap my arm around his shoulder. "It's cool, but I want to bury you in the sand, then I'll completely forgive you." I pull him away from the castle and to a spot with tons of sand. I dig out a small spot for him and he climbs in. Then I cover him up. The waves are slowly making their way to us, so I shape the sand into a mermaid. I smile before running to my phone and taking a picture. The second I take the picture waves rush up and hit my foot which makes me falls forward with the unexpected force. How'd they get that high that fast. I fall into the sand with a thud. Cancer's mermaid body disappears and he helps him up. He's concerned, but I just laugh and shake off the sand.
"You ok?"
"I won't bruise anything but my ego." I smile and wrap my arm in his. "Help me clean up and then we should go shopping." Once we finish throwing everything in the beach bag we also bought, we go to the boardwalk. We go into a sundress shop and I get a yellow flower dress with black trim and black sleeves. Cancer blushes when I make him hold my purse as I switch into it in the middle of the store. Arie's is beginning to rub off on me. I am in a bikini however so at least I didn't strip down naked. "Crap, is my bikini loose?" I question because of Cancer's staring.
"No, it's just funny." He smiles a little before looking around the store. "Do you want a frog?" He asks looking towards the other side of the store. I adjust the dress I've managed to get on without flashing Cancer, and look towards the direction. I see crabs, frogs, and lizards. I smile and see a cute green frog staring at me.
"I want it." I pick it up with Cancer's objections, saying he was just kidding. "I. Want. It." I go to the register and buy it. I know it was an impulse, but I got food too. It'll be fine. I walk back out with the little dude/dudette, Cancer trails behind me.
"Aries doesn't like frogs."
"Too bad for Aries." I smile and he laughs.
We walk down the boardwalk simply talking and discussing things. We bought ice cream and I got a rainbow swirl ice whilst Cancer has vanilla.
"So, do you like Pisces?" His eyes widen, but after a minute he laughs.
"Oh, you meant like a friend, right? I thought you meant it romantically." He thinks for a second before shrugging. "We're both pretty introverted, and we have a lot in common. It's kind of hard not to like someone like Pisces. Unless you're Aries of course."
"Ah. So what about the other Zodiac's."
"Relationship wise, Scorpio's in love with Pisces, and so is Leo. Libra's best friends with Virgo, and Gem and Mini don't get along with her so much. Aries and Taurus are in denial about being in love with each other and so are Aquarius and Sagittarius."
"Who do you like?" I wiggle my eyebrows to emphasize my point and he coughs, choking on his ice cream.
"Um... good question." He bites his lip which looks extremely cute. I love how awkward he is. "I kind of like someone." He shrugs and I stop dead in my tracks.
"Who?" I smirk and refuse to move.
"It's a secret."
"I'm not moving til you tell me."
"Have fun with that." He shrugs waiting for me to give up, but I smile and look at the vehicle approaching.
"Might wanna say it fast. The boardwalk train thing's coming." I smile and he looks back. He sighs admitting defeat.
"Virgo." My eyes widen and he pulls me out of the way. I almost drop Mr. Froggy.
"Virgo? You like Virgo." I smile and clap my hands together. "That's literally perfect."
"It's a secret, so shh." He grumpily replies and I smile.
"She's pretty. I think you two would make a beautiful couple." I wink at him and smile. "After you have sex of course." He chokes again, but this time I throw a laughing fit. This was the best day ever.
After Cancer recovers we decide to watch Aries and Taurus surf. Arie's is a brilliant surfer and rides each wave with excellence. Taurus however shouts curses each time he falls. He seems like a beginner. I would be willing to bet he was. "Shit!" He falls off again and I burst out laughing. Cancer looks at me before laughing with me. Taurus stomps over giving a deadly look that shuts both of us up. Touchy.
After the lovely works of Taurus and his surfboard it's time to go back home. The guys drop us off, and Aries goes straight to bed. I decide to get some tea and see Aunt Mac in the kitchen. She sits at the bar with tea of her own watching the small tv hanging on the wall. "Hey, Aunt Mac." I smile and proceed to make my own cup.
"Hey, sweetheart. how are you?" She smiles and looks up from the tv.
"I'm fine. It was a lot of fun." I smile and shrug. "But, I'm still overly curious about Aries and Pisces." I take a sip of my tea giving her my best puppy dog look.
"Ugh... ok, so Pisces mom, Mara. She was my best friend, we were practically sisters growing up. When she had Pisces and I had Aries things changed a little. Pisces is very sensitive as she's supposed to be, and Aries hates her. Pisces doesn't like Aries either, and when they started hating each other it made it hard for Mara and me to stay in touch. I think they're both in Athens. If Pisces and Aries would simply stop taking their bad qualities out on each other, and replace it with good qualities. They'd get along so much better, and by that I mean they'd be able to tolerate each other." She smiles and pulls me into a hug.
"I wanna change that. I want to make them friends." I sit for a minute before getting an idea. "What's Pisces phone number? I can call her and then they can make up, and Pisces won't be so upset anymore."
"Sweetheart, you can't do that. You aren't allowed to meet the signs out of order. You have to meet every other sign before you can meet Pisces. And before you ask, the meeting didn't count. They have to meet you right back, or it doesn't count. Bad things happen if you don't follow the rules, Sunny." She sighs, but I'm rather annoyed at this point.
"What kind of bad things?"
"'Bad things' pretty much means Zeus. God of Greek gods and goddesses."
"If he's so bad then why's he the god of gods?"
"Don't, ever, say that again." She looks serious and very scary. Her eyes are fierce and the scolding look is aimed at me.
"I think it's time for bed." I stand up and carefully place my mug in the sink before walking back up to my room. I'm not exactly tired now.
Once I'm laying down on my bed I'm restless and I continuously move around. That's when an ingenius idea pops up in my mind. I'll start a diary. I don't wanna forget this summer I can already tell, so why not a diary. I find an empty notebook in my bag and start writing. I write about the Zodiac's. I write about learning who they really are. I talk about Gem, and how amazing he is. I talk about things I never thought before, like how handsome he is, and how nice. I stop when it's about time for Aries to get up. I look around the room for a hiding place. If I hide it under the mattress she'll find it. The desk is obvious, and so is my nightstand. That's when I see the airvent. It's big enough for the journal so I put it in and close the vent. Perfect.
