A figure lay in the shadow of the night still and quiet. Unseen except for a black cat who crept on to the porch of a cute house in a quiet neighborhood. "They better like cats." she mumbled under her breath. She proceeded to claw and meow loudly. The lights inside the house flicked on. As the cat continued to paw and scratch at the door. The cat sat as she heard the clicking of the lock and the door opened a boy stood his pajamas which looked like a pair of shorts with no tee shirt or shoes. He looked down at the black cat who was staring patently at the boy with her large amber eyes.
He was tired drowsy and a bit confused but still smiled at the cat."Hello friend," he said, reaching down to scratch under the cat's chin.
He was a scrawny boy with sharp features, he would have been horribly average if it wasn't for his eyes. His eyes were a stunning grey, they were clear and bright and appeared to have small gold flecks in them, as well as a lingering emotion. One that the figure hiding in the shadows had seen many of time, sadness.
The boy scooped up the cat who was purring furiously and loving the attention. Her ears perked up and the loud purrs faded as the cat locked her eyes on an unseen object concealed by the shadows cast by moonlight.
The boy shivered. "It sure is cold out here, I can see why you want to come in." The cat shifted her eyes to the boy. "How about you stay with us for tonight, you can come inside and we can chat over a glass of warm milk."
The cat seemed pleased with his offer and hopped out of his arms into the house, and acted like she owned the place.
"Okay then," the boy said, shrugging his shoulders. He then stole a glance at the shadowed place that had captured the cats attention.
An impatient meow sounded behind him, the cat was expecting to get her milk. Otherwise she was going walk out that door and find someone who would. "Okay, okay I get you want your milk."
He grinned at the cat "You sure are impatient." he said, closing the door behind him.
Shadows gathered on the branch as figure formed, she sat there smile illuminated by the pale light. "The game has begun" she whispered. Then vanished without a sound
