(Averys POV.)
Third school, second district. After what we were told was the last move that we'd have to do. Before this we were in a small town, easy to live the lives we do. Better for training. This one's so much bigger. The people here were pretty weird. Dad says that this is the same town that God bunkered down in after Heaven had fallen. He owns the school we're going to. My sisters, two of them at least, were fighting in the backseat. One of them kicked mine. I growl under my breath. I swear, they're like children sometimes.
My phone buzzes, so I check it. It's my favorite sibling, Ginny, 'Omg, shut them up!! I can hear them over my music.'
'I can hear your music. One second.' I text back. She's in the back seat, but she doesn't want to start anything with thing one and thing two. I flip around in my seat and give them my demon glare. It could stop a charging bull I was told. They quiet down, Lilian muttering something under her breath.
I sit back in my seat and get a thank you text from Ginny. She's looking out the window, the other triplet of us three next to her, our older sister at the other window. Her in the back and the oldest of the triplets, though still younger than her up front is what got her mood so bad. We're almost to the school and I'm already anxious and irritated. So when we pull up to this huge highschool with so many students, I visibility panic looking to my dad.
"Don't give me that look, Avery Lynn! You're going. It's not that bad." He tells me as he parks his mustang. Some guy walks by us before we get out, cat calling at the car. He's cute, but the taller one next to him is cuter. I make sure they're out of sight before I get out, the other three following behind dad.
It was like swimming against a river, trying to get to the principal's office through the students who were trying to get to their classes. The door was closed already when we got there, and someone was getting chewed out. We waited awkwardly, for the arguing to end. It was a pretty loud argument.
"You cannot just take someone's lungs from them because they mad you mad, Lucifer! No more fighting, am I clear? Go to class..." The authoritative voice almost sounded exhausted on the other side of the door. Was that an archangel's name that I heard? The door opens and a tall teen comes out. He looks a little sick. He stares me down as he walks by. I feel a shiver up my spine as our eyes meet. Dad pulls me into the office.
"Sorry about that, you guys are the new students, right? Welcome to Hellbent High. The name was not my idea." The principal has a small smile on his face. He seems so casual about everything that just happened.
"Hellbent High. What a name for a school that teaches both hunters and demons." Lillian comments, looking around. Dad gives her a warning look. She's probably still pretty angry about the ride over here.
"Yep, thats us. These three are the triplets, Angel, Avery Lynn, and Ginny. And this is my second oldest, Lillian. Girls, this is your principal, Mr. Shurley. Otherwise know as God." He says that like he's trying to prove a point to us that the move was a good idea. I'm still not convinced.
"I'm not very good at professionalism. You can call me Chuck. Everyone does." God's' name is Chuck, huh? The rest of this awkward meeting is just getting information and arranging our schedules. We're not actually going to school until tomorrow. We learned a little about the school and got the grand tour from a couple of chucks kids at the end.
The school was huge and had lots of things that not just any normal high school would have. My favorite part was probably the courtyard, it was pretty impressive. Would be a nice place to sit down and draw, or read a book. They also had this amazing dance studio, it was covered wall to wall in mirrors with a surround sound system. Their singing and band room had many instruments in it, but what drew me was their two grand pianos. Our mother used to play almost any instrument, but her two loves were the violin and the piano.
