I stood there. Motionless. I looked in the direction of the boys to see if I could find Andrew. I was escorted to the stage by two guards. When I got up there I looked for Andrew again. He mouthed the words, "It's going to be ok" to me and I slightly nodded.
Sophie Amber, the one who escorts the tributes every year, said, "Time to pick the boy!" I just blankly stared at Andrew and I didn't even hear the name Sophie called out. I soon found out who she called after the boys around Andrew made him stand out like a red rose in a bush full of white roses.
He stepped up to the stage and gave a slight grin and wave to the crowd and Sophie put her arm around him as she directed him into the building. Two guards, the ones who pushed me up to the stage, stood behind me and shoved me to go inside. Andrew and I were put in separate rooms. I got scared cause I was all alone, but then my mom and brother busted through the door like there was a fire and my mom had me in a giant bear hug.
"Mom it's ok. I'll be ok. I have Andrew and Andrew has me," a couple of tears escaped my eyes.
"I don't want to lose you. I never knew this would happen," she started crying. I never saw her cry. She would always cry in private or hold the tears back. I rubbed her back like she would do to me. The guards came in and they grabbed my brother and mom.
My brother managed two last words, "Good luck..."
I was left in silence for five more minutes until, surprisingly, the bakery owner came in.
He sat down and started to say, "So my name is Peeta Mellark. I will be your mentor and so will Haymitch. We will meet on the train-" I cut him off.
"I don't care about what happens after this. I just have one request. Keep Andrew alive." I managed to say before he left and I broke down in tears.

When we got in the truck, I wanted to sit next to Andrew, but Sophie sat in between us and blabbered all about the "goods" we will get when we get to the Capitol and about everything that will happen. I stopped staring forward and glanced over to Andrew who was staring out the window and could care less. I did so too.
We reached the train and Andrew got to the entrance first, but waited for me to go first. I stepped inside and stared at the room. Andrew did the same. I sat down in a chair and Andrew sat next to me and took my hand in his.
I couldn't find the right words to fit this beautiful room. Me and Andrew sat in chairs next to each other and held hands. "Well, at least we have eachother," Andrew said giving a big sigh in the end. I stared at the ground while he stared out the window.
A few minutes past and Haymitch and Peeta walk in."Looks like we got ourselves some love birds!" Haymitch blurted out making both Andrew and I let go and jump in our chairs. Haymitch gave a low laugh and sat down in front of Andrew while Peeta sat in front of me. We were all in deep silence as me and Andrew avoided making eye contact with any of the other three pairs of eyes while Peeta and Haymitch stared at us.
After about ten minutes, Sophie came in to grab the wine. I'm guessing to make sure Haymitch doesn't drink it. Haymitch said,"I don't need that anyway," as if reading my mind.
Andrew added,"I wouldn't think so. After all the kids that have died for all of the 12 districts," sounding sarcastic but still full of truth.
"Well I'm sorry I can't save any of them! It's their fault anyway for not surviving!" Haymitch says angrily.
"Haymitch.." Peeta finally managed a sound.
"It's not like I loved every single one of them! They are just disgraces to this country anyway!" Haymitch was sounding like he was about to cry. He stood up and left the room.
"I'm sorry," I said sadly,"I'm just really mad how Andrew and I magically got picked this year."
Peeta grabbed my hand and said,"It's ok. We are going to train both of you so it's a fair battle and neither of you will feel bad for killing the other."
"I don't want that to happen. I want to be with Anna till my last breath!" Andrew managed to butt in.
Peeta let go of my hand and pulled both of us into a group hug. He directed us to our rooms and left us alone in each of rooms. I sat on the bed and heard a knock on the door. I opened it and found Andrew. I quickly hugged him tightly and we were both in the room. We sat on the bed. Hand-in-hand again. I looked into his eyes and all I could see was pain. "I don't want to kill you," I said.
"You won't have to," Andrew told me,"We can separate and if we are both alive by the end, we can kill each other at the same time so they don't have a victor. Just like Katniss and Peeta." I stared into his eyes as we both leaned in to kiss. But the TV flickered on and we both jumped. We both laughed and looked at the TV. It said "Breaking News". The TV flickered to President Snow in his office ready to make an announcement.
"Attention people of Panem," he gave the camera an evil smile,"I have good news for the tributes! Since this year is the 99th annual Hunger Games, the game makers have decided to give the tributes a break from all the stress of losing their district partner or whoever they want. This year the game makers have decided to let there be two winners! This will also go on for every "twin-digit" year. For example, for the 111th Games, we will let there be two victors. As for the 122nd, 133rd, and so on. Thank you for listening." and the screen went black.
