Prologue
Three weeks ago.....
"What the hell do you think you're doing?!" Karin screamed as she looked at her best friend Madison holding a match in her hand, about to set her room on fire. Madison turned to face karin and nearly fell. Karin took a good look in the light green eyes of her friend and knew she was drunk.
"H-having a good time." Madison replied.
Tears came to Karin's eyes. "Put down the match..."Karin said. Suddenly Madison collapsed, sending the match to the floor. In that quick second, Karin realised the room had caught afire.
Chapter 1: With every crime, there's ALWAYS a witness.
"Today, we celebrate the beginning of a new semester,"Principal McClaire said, " but, we must always remember the lives of those two who perished in the tragic fire which occured coming to the end of summer vacation."
Everyone sitting in the auditorium went silent. Madison Gullough looked Karin straight in the eyes. If Karin didn't know her friend she wouldn't have known what that look had meant. That was the sort of look that meant Madison wanted to march right up to the stage and tell everyone what happened. Karin returned a determined look in her eyes, which Madison understood. Karin reached her hand over to Madison and gripped. her tight. Aliyah did the same and reached for Karin's other hand and
they arched their backs upright and acted like the beautiful girls they all were.
"You may place condolence cards to our passed students by their lockers, if you would like to make a donation to their family please come to the office at lunch, thank you." Ms. McClaire walked off the stage and hurried off somewhere.
"You're all dismissed." A teacher said over the microphone. A wave of students hurried off to classes not caring who they hit into. Karin reached in her bag, pulled out a small tube of strawberry lipgloss and applied a fresh coat.
"Ok girls,"Karin said,"No matter what happens today we do not say or mention anything about that night, ok?"
Madison nodded her head and Aliyah agreed to. With that, Karin flipped her blonde hair and waved to the girls.
"Catch ya'll chicks later." She called and madison and aliyah watched as their bestfriend excited the auditorium.
"I can never forget what I did." Madison said, looking at the floor. She couldn't bare to look at Aliyah. Aliyah sighed. "Its all over now."
She held her friends' hand and they walked out together.
But not to far away, there was a person ducking behind a chair that had listened to every thing the girls had said. The figure stood upright and smiled. "Its not over until the fat lady sings." The person then walked out the auditorium whistling.
Chapter 2: My oh my, the lies we think to tell.
"What?!"The startled officer asked.
"I did it! I did it, I did it!!" Madison screamed.
She was suprised her throat hadn't dropped down to her toes. She reached a long slender finger and touched it to be sure.
"Did what?" The officer asked in a bored tone.
This really ticked Madison off. It wasn't like if every day a crazy teenage girl ran into his office claiming they murdered someone. Right?
"I murdered Nora Anthony and Donelle Clarkes." Madison said truthfully.
"Do you have proof?" He asked. He started to have a suspicious look on his face.
"I—I." Madison didn't have any proof. Not since Aliya had done what she did........
The officer looked her straight in the face and Madison thought she saw a flicker of a decision made in his eyes.
"Get out my office." The man said dryly and he turned back to his conversation with the lady next to him. It took Madison about two minutes to understand what had just happened.
"I did it!! I swear I did!" Madison screamed. The officer kept on ignoring her. " I did it!" She screamed again and she felt everything around her go black.
"Miss McGullough, are you okay?" The History teacher asked. Madison opened her eyes and sprung up straight in her chair, as she felt embarrassment overwhelm her.
"Y-yes.Can I go to the bathroom?"Madison stuttered.
The teacher studied her for a few seconds. "Be back quickly."She said.
Madison nodded and rushed through the door, holding her head down as she heard snickers behind her.
She pushed the bathroom door open and ran into a stall. Tears came down her cheeks and her eyes stung. What the hell was she thinking? There was absolutely no way in hell she would confess. Right? She could go to jail. She walked out the stall and strutted around the bathroom thinking. But as she turned her head to the mirror, she froze and nearly fainted. There, mysteriously written on the mirror in uppercase letters with marker was one simple message that could ruin her life.
'I KNOW WHAT YOU DID.'
I want to thank all those who read and voted. I really didn't think I would get such positive responses:)

Chapter 3: Can you tell me a secret?
"Karin, I'm telling you. Someone knows."Madison whispered.
It was lunch and they were hanging in their elite spot under the shade of a graceful tree.
"Goddammit, Madison. I told you not to bring that up."Karin hissed.
Aliya's mouth itched to say something. Anything. But she couldn't bring herself to argue with Karin.
Madison gave her her phone and showed the bone-chilling picture of the message on the mirror. Karin gasped. She immediately regained her composure.
"I know who did this." Karin said.
