Chapter 9: Free Drink
Song^: Save myself by Ed Sheeran

Zeke P.O.V

"Thanks for the free drink, Zeke but I could have pay for it myself." She thanked me for the frappuccino. "I invited you so I'll pay for you." I told her. "That would be more accurate if this is a date but it's just us hanging out right?" She doubted my saying. "What can I say? I'm a gentleman?" I joked trying not to care about the not date just hanging out part.

"Are you okay?" She asked me. She must have notice my change of mood. "I'm okay." I smiled. "I don't believe you." She shook her head. "You can tell me, you know. Was it something I said?" She questioned. Should I be honest with her? Damn I don't want to get rejected.

"I kind of want this to be a date." I muttered. "Oh you do?" She looked at me with wide eyes. "Oh my gosh! I'm so sorry! What can I do to make it up to you?" She held my hand. "Well you could go on a real date with me." I said.

"Hey, Zeke!" A familiar voice called me from behind. I turned to look at her. It was Marge Phillips. Oh no. She's my ex girlfriend. What the hell is she doing here?!

"What are you doing here?" I asked her. "Well this is a coffee shop... I'm buying coffee." She shrugged. She eyed Nicole then looked back at me. "Don't tell me you're on a date with this loser." She crossed her arms.

"Excuse me?!" Nicole stood up from her seat.
"What, Zeke? It's true. Does she think being the president of the student council will make her popular? She'll always be a loser." Marge laughed.

"Go back to hell, Marge." I gritted my teeth.
"I didn't run for president to gain popularity." Nicole is trying to calm herself down. Showing my support I put my arm around her waist but she respectfully removed it then walked out of the cafe. I turned back to Marge.

"Look at what you've done!" I screamed at her. "Can you just leave me alone?" My voice is filled with desperation. "Relax, Zeke. I'm just helping you." She looked at me sincerely. Whoa! She really looked genuinely concerned.

"Helping me how? Ruining my life?" I glared at her. "Zeke, rumors have been spreading out. People are saying a lot about you. Not much people are not giving you attention anymore." She stated.

"What do you mean?" I asked her. "Don't you feel the changes?" She questioned me. "You're losing yourself, Zeke. Do girls still throw themselves at you, are people drooling over you, are the boys jealous and wanting to be like you? You were like that before but not anymore. I've been missing class because something came up with my family. Then I'm back asking how you are to everyone because I missed you. And you know what they say to me? Zeke who? . When I asked Noel about you he said the same thing, so I asked for information. He said you've been hanging out with the loser group. And I kinda agree with it when I saw you with that girl." She said.

"How could anyone said that about me?" I asked feeling confused. "Riri's part of the student body officers but she's still popular." I said. "Because everyone knew why Riri joined. She joined because of you. She didn't really want to join but she had no choice. Yes she's the secretary but she didn't forget where she truly belong unlike you." She explained.

"Speaking of Rihanna, I've always thought you're gonna end up with her but here you are chasing Nicole like a lost puppy. I gotta go to school. Later, Zeke." She left the cafe.

What's happening to me? Looking back at everything, none of my friends talk to me anymore. I'm always hung up on Nicole and following her. I gave her all of my attention but what do I get from her? Not just that, I think I lost everything, everyone. Even Rihanna. The girl who has always been there for me. My best friend, Noel whose not by my side anymore.

Zeke who? I have no idea.
