*INCOMPLETE* ONLY 1ST CHAPTER

One.

Rain was pouring down Leo's face, stabbing at his eyes and stinging at the cut on his cheek, as he ran as fast as he possibly could. Each breath was loud and ragged but he mustn't stop, not now after he's got so far away. If he stops now, even for a split second they will catch him. He wouldn't survive it this time. Even so much as one look and they would kill him. He's not strong enough anymore, not after trying to save Emma and seeing the glint of life leave her eyes forever and it was his fault, he didn't run fast enough to save her and now she's gone.

The rain was beginning to ease and the sound of Leo's pursuers had become a faint whisper in the distance.

Had they given up? He thought 'no they are just regrouping I must keep going until I'm indoors where they can't go.'

The road seemed to be endless and the rain wasn't helping. Leo's clothes clung to him like a second skin and had almost doubled in weight. His eyes were heavy and he needed to rest desperately, but it's not safe here. The whispers from his pursuers had stopped, so he ceased running but only for a while, they would be back soon. Leo was stood in the middle of the road, bent over double. He could hardly breathe, each sharp intake of breathe was agonizing, giving him an over whelming sense of sickness. He slowly stood back up and looked around him to find it was pitch black with no detail apart from a single light in the distance. He squinted to try and see what it was coming from,

"Please be a house",

He begged, breathlessly to the emptiness. He stumbled down the road, all of his limbs shaking.

I'm too weak.

His vision had become blurry. Each step that he took felt like lifting a tonne on each foot. He arrived at the front path of a small country house, it looked safe. Suddenly, an abrupt stabbing pain coursed through the whole of Leo's body. He clenched his eyes and hands; he clamped his stomach screaming out in pain.

"They will not have me again!!",

Shouting in terror he buckled to the floor as the pain intensively increased

"NO!" he cried again "NOT AGAIN".

Desperation was seeping into his voice, then a cloud of darkness took over, he felt his face hit the biting cold wet pavement and then nothing.

Leo was lying motionless on the pavement when a young slender fiery red head girl with dazzling hazel eyes slowly opened the front door; she looked around still half hiding. A look of curiosity and fear covered her face,

"H...hello" she whispered,

She was too scared to say anything louder. Her eyes darted in every direction until she finally looked down to see Leo, collapsed on the pavement at the end of her path, her eyes locked on him. His arms were still clenched tightly around his stomach, his dark brown hair which was quite short at the back with a long fringe that was across his face, he was wearing straight black jeans with a grey hoodie which was almost black because it was drenched by the rain. It was badly torn around the bottom and at the end of each sleeve; he had no shoes. His feet where cut and bruised. She slowly edged towards him, then at arm's length from him, she crouched. There were so many thoughts swirling around her head, the most common one was

I hope he's not dead.

She reached out her hand towards him, trembling with adrenaline sprinting through her veins. Part of her mind was telling her to run but she had a strange curiosity towards Leo. It seemed an eternity before her hand reached him. His hair was soaked and his skin was ice cold, like life had left it long ago. She pushed back his fringe off of his face; his piercing blue eyes were staring straight into her soul.
