The story happened when the zombies were a hot topic in the news. They were everywhere—and everyone is afraid of them.
I remember one night when I was alone inside our house and I was just playing some computer games, then heard some knocks on the door. Despite being terrified, I walked towards the door and slowly opened it. I saw a poor girl, crying in front of me. She suddenly hugged me and asked for food, so I gave her some.
When she fell asleep, I went to the bathroom to take a bath. After doing so, I gave her some pillows and blanket so she could sleep comfortably. I then went to my own room and slept.
But when I was sleeping, a creaking sound from an opening door woke me up. Before I have even fully woken up, my half-opened eyes clearly saw that she was trying to eat me. She looked horrible and scary, unlike the innocent and poor side of hers that she have showed. Felt my adrenaline rush kick in, and I started to run as fast as I can. I was internally managing to get back to my senses and think properly-and yes, I was able to run to the area where I hid my gun.
Not having second thoughts, I shot her. I was positive that she is a zombie.
After that, I had no choice but to report the incident and calm myself down. I promised myself that if ever someone’s knocking on the door, I got to take a look first and know them well before letting them enter your house for safety purposes. I’d never let myself be in trouble again for trusting a person with a hidden identity.
