Melissa Granger didn't understand why she felt like she was bouncing up and down. She'd just been dreaming about a castle, not a trampoline! Only when her eyes opened did she realise that the bouncing sensation had been her twin sister, Hermione Granger, jumping on the end of her bed in a method to wake her up. The eleven-year-old rubbed her sapphire blue eyes, squinting at the bright room.

" Wake up, we're going to Devon! " Hermione declared her brown eyes staring into her sister's.

" Ok, I've got it. " Melissa croaked, sitting up drearily. She was definitely not a morning person.

" Now you need to get dressed. " Hermione ordered. Melissa purely nodded, used to being ordered around by her sister. She stepped out of her bed and pulled out the first clothes she came across in her wardrobe.

" Are you all packed for the weekend? " Hermione checked.

" Yes. I finished packing yesterday. " Melissa nodded.

" Good. " Her sister confirmed, before skipping out of the room. Melissa sighed as she pulled on her outfit. Hermione was always rather bossy towards her sister, not really taking into account that Melissa was human too, and shared the same feelings as her. Except maybe not the feelings of confidence, bravery and intelligence that Hermione regularly paraded.

It didn't take long for Melissa to be dressed and finished her breakfast, and soon her family were ready to head down to Devon for the weekend. Melissa jumped into the car next to her sister, not really looking forward to their usual trip. She liked the familiarity of it, but for some reason, she just wasn't in the mood.

" Are we all ready? " her Dad asked.

" Yes! " Hermione answered for both herself and her sister.

" Good. Let's go. " He nodded. Melissa grabbed their small dog, Muffin. Muffin was a Shih-poo - a cross between a Shih Tzu and a Poodle. Melissa had always loved her little dog, and Muffin had immediately warmed to Melissa too. She spent the journey hugging the dog as a method to avoid the travel-sickness Melissa sometimes suffered from.

After what felt like way too long, the Granger's car pulled up outside of a small, comfortable cottage. Melissa dropped the dog from her lap and immediately bounded out of the car, breathing in as much fresh air as she could.

" That's better. " She declared

" You're strange, " Hermione informed her. Melissa frowned slightly.

" Help us get our luggage into the cottage, girls. " Her mum called from the rear of the car. Melissa walked over and grabbed a suitcase, before wheeling it inside the place they were staying.

" Which room are we staying in? " Melissa asked.

" You can have separate rooms if you like. " her dad told her. Melissa contemplated the idea, thinking it would be great to finally be in a room of her own, even if only for a weekend, but she shook her head in the end.

" No, we'll share." she decided " As long as Hermione's ok with that. " Melissa added as an afterthought.

" Yes, that's fine. " Hermione nodded walking in behind them with a large bag. Their dad led the two girls into a cream coloured room on the left.
