You were off at camp. You hated camp. A bunch of little kids running around screaming and being rude. It's not how you wanted to spend your summer. But your parents were going out on a business trip all summer long so you had to be shipped off to a summer camp. you would rather be at camp then staying with a relative.
You setting up your cabin; putting photos on the walls, posters, making your bed, putting your clothes in the dresser. You were doing anything you could to make it feel like home. You more than likely would be spending most of your time in here to avoid all of the teenie bopper campers.
There was a knock at your door and you looked up. You saw a familiar face staring in through your door. I forgot to mention there was ONE big reason you picked camp over relatives and this was it. You got up and ran over to your door and hugged the person standing before you.
His name was Taylor. He made you smile. He made everything just so much easier. Plus he was attractive so it made it all worth while. You stood there hugging him and you knew he was going to do something to ruin what you looked like. He was a jokester, a 24/7 jokester and that's all he had on his mind. He pulled away from the hug and messed up your hair. Of course, you called it.
"Taylor I didn't know you were coming this summer." You pushed him a little and smiled. And of course he responded, "Why in the world would I not come? Messing with you makes my summer, now why would I give that up?" You laughed. You should have saw that answer coming. You shook your head and grabbed his hand. "Lets go to the lake." You pulled him off to the lake.
"You just want to see me shirtless." He smirked at you obviously joking. You two were just friends and that's all you'd ever be. It didn't bug you honestly, I mean yeah you liked him but you loved just having him in your life for the summer. Like a little summer romance every year. "Oh of course I just want to see you naked more than ever. Take it all of boy!" You rolled your eyes playfully and sat on the edge of the dock.
"You know if I were the old Taylor I'd push you in right now." He looked at you kind of raising his eye brows. "Old Taylor? You are still the same Taylor the first thing you did was mess up my hair because you're a jerk." You looked at him back and gave him the same face. "Well part of me changed and I'm not going to push you in!" He crossed his arms.
"Well I changed too!" You pushed him in the water and laughed. He came up from the water and shook his hair like guys do and got you wet. "Oh you've changed. You are going to get it missy!" He swam over and grabbed your feet before you could stand up and pulled you into the water. "I guess I haven't changed have I?" He winked and swam over to the shore and got out and took off his shirt. You did the same but left all your clothing on.
Taylor hugged you from behind. He whispered quietly in your ear. "I think you should go changed into your bathing suit." He turned you in the direction of your cabin and pushed you softly in that direction. You followed his command and changed and came back.
You spent your first day in the water and just catching up with Taylor. A year without talking leads to a lot of things to talk about it. Before you knew it it was time for dinner with all the campers. The first day of camp was always do nothing get to know people dinner, hang out, campfire, bed time. It was the same every year.
You went to the Cafeteria with Taylor and continued to talk and laugh and joke around with each other. As always, Taylor started a food fight, every year it was always the same. Taylor loved getting in trouble for it. You hated him getting in trouble but you always laughed when he got yelled at.
You spent the rest of the night, until the campfire that is, cleaning up the Cafeteria with him and probably making more of a mess than actually cleaning. After that you showered fast and headed down to the campfire and waiting for Taylor to join you.
He walked over and sat behind you and you leaned against him. "Where are the marshmallows!?" He complained and you looked back at him. "They are hiding from your because you'll eat them and they don..." A little kid passed him a bag of marshmallows before you could ever finish your sentence. "They weren't hiding for long!" he smiled and stuck the marshmallow on the end of a stick and put it in the fire.
You spent the rest of the summer with Taylor being coupley and cute but you knew when summer ended you wouldn't talk for a year so you remembered to not get attached. It was an amazing summer. Better than any year before. This year you were actually thankful that your parents went on business trips for the summer.
