“Mum, Dad! No!”
With tears welling in his eyes, Jamie sank to the black as night, rubble-strewn floor. All he could do now was watch helplessly, with wet soggy eyes, as his parents were carried away. As Jamie sat mournfully, something nuzzled his right arm. He jumped. Looking around he came face to face with his greatest friend and loyal feline companion; Cyan. On seeing him, a tight smile spread across his face. He reached around an arm to stroke the tufty fur between Cyan’s ears, his normally immaculately groomed, snow white pelt blackened and matted from the fight. His intensifying, electric blue eyes gazed solemnly into Jamie’s own dusty brown eyes. The pair sat in silence as the battle raged around them. As they sat together in silence, their world crumbling around them, Jamie’s sorrowful reminiscence brought something to the front of his mind. Why were the Cronoids here in the first place? What had his parents told him? If we are taken then you’re its protector. His eyes widened and he scrambled to his feet, Cyan did too. There was still a flicker of hope in the embers of loss. He had to get home: fast!
“Come on Cyan. We have to get home!”
Together the two of them ran off into the half-destroyed city - their home - ready for anything. But they had no idea what destiny had in store for them...
