---Start---

I step into the cage and I study my soon to be enemy. His long hair falls to his shoulders and I instantly know he's new. Fighters rarely kept their hair long because it is easy to grab and yank. If you had a fighters hair you practically controlled them.

The announcer shouted my name and the crowd roars.

When he bangs the gong I ignore the fear in my enemy's eyes as I run at him. I easily dodge his punch but by the way he threw it, I knew he was strong. With some practice I think he could become an actual opponent. Which is exactly what I don't want. I throw a few punches and kick him hard before he can think of what to do. I grab him by his hair and pull his head back. I punch him in the face and tighten my grip on his hair. I thrust his head into the cage and throw him away.

His fear is replaced with rage and he charges me. His feet made the floor shake as jumps at me. I see the punch coming and I duck. He quickly kicks me in the side before I can react. His foot hits my ribs and I was thrown to the side.

My ribs ache horribly as I stand but I don't care. Losing to him was not something I could do. I run at him and jump. I hit him hard in the temple and knock him out cold.

The announcer runs into the cage and takes my hand. He raises it high and says my name twice before declaring me the winner. The crowd goes wild like they always do and I see the owner of the man I fought shaking with fury. He glares at me and I scurry out of the cage. It's not like I kicked the boy out of the cage.. yet.

You have to lose 3 times before the cage fighter is kicked out. He'll become whatever the owner wants him to. Maybe the owners slave, a trade, or he might even be sent to death. The boy will have 2 more losses before he's really gone from fighting.

I head over to a side door in the arena and enter. A guard follows me with a gun in is pocket and a taser in hand. I exit the arena into a fenced in room. Yes the fence is electric so there's no escape even if I were able to knock out the guard. There's a little door on the ground that leads you to a set of stairs. When you reach the bottom, you reach the holding cells. They are about 20ft by 20ft each. Each room is stuffed with at least 15 people. Sometimes I just sleep outside in the courtyard, but it's usually to cold.

"I'm going to the courtyard." I say to the guard.

"Mr. Kennel will want to see you." the guard says, not looking at me.

"Tell him Im in the courtyard." I growl and storm past the crowded cells. The guards mutters something in agreement and stands by the door. I push open another door at the end of the huge hallway and climb the flight of stairs. I push open the wooden hatch and climb out.

I didn't come to greet my friends; I had none. Nor did I come to clear my head since my mind was already clear. I came because I hated being in that cell with people. Ever since my first fight, I stopped talking to others if I could help it. The fact that I could be forced to fight them at any time made me stay away from all the cage fighters. What if I had made a friend? I would just have to fight them one day and if I beat them, if I just so happened to kick them out, I could never forgive myself.  I wouldn't I want to.

There were plenty of people here but they all had something to do. They left me alone, unlike some. Many fear that they will be beaten up by the better cage fighters, which yes, happens often. I used to fear that too, once. I soon realized I could tear apart almost all of them with my bare hands. Im not saying I'm the best fighter, oh no not at all. There's this boy, or should I say man, who's never lost once and he has won over 150 times! I fear him and I don't look forward to the time where I will have to fight him.
