Middle had a book. It was a journal with a 'Game of Thrones' theme around it, but she had changed it to become something much more. It's now a folder of sorts. Every page holds a name, a hand-drawn sketch and a detailed description of different characters Middle had created for stories; currently 48 to be precise. In order to write a story, she would take different characters from the book, and mash them together to create a scenario. This became boring after a while, so she started having friends of hers pick the characters for her to make things more interesting.
Her eyes dulled, staring down at the character sheet in her hands. She exhaled, before burying her face in page 27 of the book. Her friend Lefty chuckled.
"What's wrong? What's with the dramatic sigh?" She asked, still chuckling. Middle groaned and her face emerged from the glue-smelling book.
"Really? Of all people you chose him? I don't know how to write for him!" She asked, cringing slightly at her own awkwardness. Her Lefty began to chuckle again.
"He's your character! How do you not know how to write for him?" Middle sighed.
"I just don't."
"But why not?" Lefty asked.
"He's ...... deaf." Lefty remained confused. "I don't know how to write for a deaf guy. I'm not deaf."
"Well don't make him the main character then. Make him a side character." Lefty suggested.
"No I can't do that. You suggested him and changing that would ruin the whole randomness thing I've got going on."
Middle sat to herself for a few minutes, contemplating her current predicament. She looked over and saw Righty talking to some friends. "I'm not going to bug her asking her for help", she mumbled to herself, shaking her head.
Suddenly, Middle's eyes lit up with ideas. "I can cheat my own system" She stated with a small smile.
"What do you mean?" She heard Lefty mumble at her.
"I can write about not being able to think of anything to write about for the deaf guy!"
"That's really specific, Middle." Lefty chuckled. "People are going to be able to tell something's up." Middle didn't respond, however, as she was busy typing away.
"Hmm..." Middle hummed. "I think I'll start with talking about the book!"
