Evianna Sharora

Evianna followed behind Calix silently as he showed them to their rooms. She was relieved to know that Zeke's was right next to her's, and she left him to his thoughts. Calix opened her door enthusiastically and allowed her to step in first.

"You gonna love it!" Calix said. "It is probably one of the best inventions Humankind ever made, with some modifications, of course."

Evianna was sure the boy was ready to start skipping as he led her over to the wooden door on the other side of the room. He threw it opened, flicking a switch on the wall up, and flooding the room with light.

Evianna started, taking a step away from the room.

"Electricity," Calix told her, grinning. Evianna didn't bother asking what the hell that was.

"And this," He continued, gesturing to a mirror and a marble counter, the center hollowed out with a metal contraption above. He turned something and water began to flow from it. "Is a sink. This is your toilet." Another strange round, porcelain object, resembling a chair connecting to the floor. "You 'relieve yourself' in it and hit this thingy to flush it." He pushed down a silver handle and the water inside spiraled down into a whole.

He moved to the far, right side of the room where a glass door set. He pulled it opened. Inside, the wall was white, two metal knobs built into the wall, and a long metal object with a round end above.

"This is the shower, to clean yourself," Calix told her. "This blue knob is the cold water, the red knob is the hot water." He turned one and water poured like rain from small holes on the metal object above. He adjusted the two knobs for a few moments. "Tell me how that is."

Evianna slowly stepped forward and stuck her hand under the water. The heat seared her hand and she hissed, jerking it away.

"Sorry," Calix muttered. Adjusting the red knob. "Now try."

"Better," Evianna said when the water didn't burn her.

Calix smiled, grabbing what looked like a miniature fluffy white blanket from a handle on the wall. "Good. Use this to dry off. When bathing, use this bottle to wash your hair," He snatched a bottle from a shelf inside the shower, holding it up, before grabbing an oval bar. "And this for your body. Whatever you do, do not get it in your eyes. It hurts like a son of a bitch."

Evianna nodded in understanding, despite the fact she barely comprehended any of his rambling.

"Ok. I'll get someone to bring you a change of clothes and leave them on your bed." With those final words, Calix left.

Evianna turned to stare at the shower, its water splattering onto the tiled floor, and the steam fogging up the glass and mirror.

"Here goes nothing," Evianna whispered.
