'Twas about 12:30 P.M. when Dan and Phil finished filming. The boys hadn't expected the play through to take so long. Dan was to blame. He had suggested doing a 'special episode' so people would stay interested. Of course Phil had agreed, and that's what got them into this mess. They were both starving and half asleep. Dan had managed to drag the tired Phil into the kitchen.
"What do you want to eat?" He asked the raven haired boy deciding he would be the one to cook. Phil simply gazed at Dan and yawned.
"Anything is fine really.." He replied, his blue, green, and yellow eyes still locked onto Dan's brown ones. Daniel remembered the interview in which he talked of Phil's eyes. They were to play the game known as the 'Newly Wed Test'. Of course, they called it the Friend test as they weren't married. He remembered the audience laughing as he announced the title. He remembered the rules and of course, the first question Phil asked.
"What colour are my eyes!?" Phil announced, quickly covering a hand over his eyes. Dan didn't have to think much. He spent hours and hours with Phil, and couldn't not forget something as simple as that.
"Your eyes are like three different colours though.. blue, green, and yellow." The audience 'awed'. Phil smiled happily at his friend. He had remembered correctly. The slight attraction Dan had for Phil was obviously showing, but the continued the test as only friends.
Snapping back to reality, Daniel turned to the stove.
"We can make some soup?" he asked Phil.
"That sounds good.." Phil said yawning again.
"Why don't you go wait on the couch while I cook..?" They made eye contact again just before Phil nodded and made his way to the living room. Dan searched for the equipment to cook. After finding them, he grabbed a can of simple chicken noodle soup. It was easy enough to prepare. As the soup began to cook Dan found his thoughts wandering. He thought of a certain dark haired boy with a piercing stare.. and his smile... he was adorable.. but this boy never thought of Dan the same way. They were just friends, nothing more. Sometimes, Dan found himself lying awake at night just thinking. What if Phil did think of him the same way? What if he didn't? He imagined ways he would confess to Phil..if he ever did. He was too anxious.. the horrifying wall of ruining their friendship stood in the way of him and Phil, and Dan did not have the strength to break it down. But if he did confess and Phil were to like him too... No.. He wouldn't..
Shaking these thoughts Dan resumed cooking. He finished the bowls of soup and carefully carried them to the living room. He sat next to Phil on the couch. Not a word was exchanged as they ate. Dan assumed Phil was just too tired to talk. Finally finishing, Dan stood and began to head to his room.
"Where are you going?" a quiet voice called after him. Dan turned and saw Phil half asleep staring after him.
"My room.. to sleep..."
"Oh.." Phil glanced down at the couch beneath him. "Why don't you just stay here..?" Dan stopped. Did he just ask him to stay with him..?
"I.."
"There's plenty of room.." Not wanting to argue with Phil, Dan stalked back over and sat next to him. Phil suddenly snuggles up against Dan and laid his head on his shoulder. Daniel tensed, and blushed ever so slightly.
"Goodnight.." Phil said, now content.
"Goodnight...." Maybe sleeping with Phil won't be so bad.. Dan thought. I do like him..Not five minutes had passed before Phil spoke again.
"Dan..?"
"Yes Phil?"
"I like you." Daniel froze, his facing heating up. Did he mean it? With his heart still racing, he built up his confidence and spoke.
"I-I like you too Phil.." But Phil was already fast asleep on Dan's shoulder. Dan decided he would tell him in the morning. His weariness finally catching up to him, Dan fell fast asleep.
