The next morning I woke up to the sound of rain. When I looked out the window there was absolutely nobody on the beach and the waves were crashing super hard. I guess it's a stay at home day.

I grabbed my phone and noticed there was a message from Ross,

Grab some food later??

A few texts later, we had a lunch date at 11. Of course I had waken up at 6 because I'm not set in the time change yet. So I had time to spare.

I took advantage of this free time to take a long shower.  Nothing beats feeling fresh on vacation.  I had some breakfast, got dressed, then sat and watched some tv. To most people that isn't very productive, to me- congrats Blair you shaved your legs.

When 10:30 came, I told my mom I was leaving and I went down to the lobby to wait.  I felt my phone buzz,

I'm outside - Ross

I walked outside finding his car and hopped in.

"Hey."  He said then started the engine.

"What's the plan?"  I asked.

"Lunch somewhere."  He answered and drive to the parking lot exit.

"Any particular place?"  I asked adjusting my seat.

"There's a little diner down the street we go to all the time. Best lunch in LA."

"Is it?"  I questioned.

"Oh yeah."  He laughed. We pulled into exactly what he said, a little diner.  We went in and sat down in the first booth and ordered some food.  We talked for a bit, eventually we got on the conversation of recycling somehow.

I glanced over the diner and noticed there were two girls just staring at us.

"I think you have a fan club over there."  I said signaling to them with my eyes. He turned and looked over.

"Just ignore them."  He answered.  "If I say hi to one I have to say hi to all of them."

"Okay."  We talked and ate for while then I looked back over. "They're taking pictures now..."

"We can leave if you want to?"  He asked as he finished his food.

"No, it's fine."  I answered. "Doesn't that bother you?"

"Sometimes, but I'm pretty used to it."

We talked a little longer, then paid the bill and then left.

"Hey, it stopped raining."  I said as I looked up at a break in the clouds.  There still wasn't a sign of blue sky, just grey.

"We can walk around while the rain is stopped."  Ross said then starting walking the opposite way of the car. Which was a mistake because when we were about five blocks away, it started to pour.

"Really?"  I laughed as we ran from oning to oning.  I grabbed my phone and looked up the radar when we found a bench to sit on. "This isn't stopping for a while."

"We can wait until it slows up."  He proposed.

"I guess."  I said putting my phone away.  I rested my head on his shoulder and he put his arm around me.

"Your hair is soaked."  He said messing with the bun I'd put in earlier.

I looked up at him. "Yeah, well yours isn't any better."

He smiled at me then leaned in for a kiss.  This one was like something out of a movie. Kissing in the rain, it was like the storm cloud wasn't even there.

I leaned my head back on his shoulder and just relaxed right there. There wasn't anyone outside, if there was they ran back inside.

"We should probably get out of this."  He said getting up and looking around.

"Should we run for it?"  I asked, we were still a solid two blocks away from where we needed to go.

"Yeah."  He said then grabbed my hand and sprinted. It felt like he was dragging me he was running so fast, just pulling me behind him. The buildings seemed like blurs of color. I tried to avoid the puddles everywhere, but I gave up. My shoes were already soaked.

"We're halfway there!"  Ross yelled as we ran across the road between the first and second block.

Soon enough, we made it to the car. We both jumped in and slammed the doors shut. I was completely out of breath, and I think Ross was too.

"Oh my god."  I laughed as I tried to catch my breath.

"Where to now?"  He asked starting the car and turning in the air conditioning.

"I don't know, do have any ideas?"

"Nah, there's not much to do here when it rains."

"We could..."  I lingered, trying to think of an idea.

"Watch a movie?"  He asked.

"Sure."  I said. "My place?"

"Sure."  He drove us back to the hotel where we found my mom and Aiden going to the hotel arcade. I guess they weren't doing much today either.

"Is it alright if we chill here for a bit?"  I asked my mom.

"Yeah, well be back soon."  She said then left with my brother.

"Alright," I said turning on the TV and sitting down in the couch, "let's see what's on."  I was flipping through channels when Ross grabbed the remote.

"Woah, woah, wait."  He said then quickly flipped a few channels back.

"What?"

"We're watching this."  He said settling in a channel and putting the remote down.

"What is it?"

"Romeo and Juliet."  He said focusing on the screen.

"Isn't that a little old school?"  I questioned, tucking my knees up to my chest.

"Yeah...but it's good."  He said then propped his converse covered feet up on the coffee table.

I did my best to not ask questions during the movie.  Even if I was pretty confused. I started thinking about how Aiden would be mad that we sat out soaking wet selves on his couch- considering it was also his bed. I also started to think about the fact that this vacation is halfway over...but I decided not to say anything.

"What'd you think?"  He asked the second it was over.

"Good."  I responded, still terribly confused.

"Just good?  That's my favorite movie!"  He argued.

"No, it was fine!  I just don't get why they both have to die."

"Because they loved each other so much."

"I get that, but why no happy ending?"

"I don't know."  He paused. "Go ask Shakespeare."  He said grabbing his phone out of his pocket to check up on social media. I decided to do the same.

I logged into Instagram, only to see I had 200 friend requests?  I just checked this this morning..?  "Ross, look at this."  I said trying to show him my phone, he was occupied on his own though.

He was scrolling through pictures with a partially worried look on his face. "Shit."
