*Evaline*

All I can feel is pain. Physical and mental pain. I don't know how long it's been or what day it is. I lay in bed crying to myself. Silence is all I can hear, pain is all I can feel. My dad would come in and check on me, he'd try to talk to me about what happened.

I don't want to talk about it. I already think about it 24/7 I don't want to talk about it. I don't want to think about it. But it's burned into my memory. I relive that moment over and over again in my head. "Evaline..." I hear a soft voice say as footsteps follow and the bed sinks a bit next to my limp body. I recognize the voice but I don't make an effort to move or speak. "Evaline... please... talk to us... talk to me.." Rebbecah begged softly. I heard the sadness and concern clearly in her voice.

After several minutes of silence, I still refused to speak. Rebbecah sighed and she laid down beside me, playing with my hair trying to comfort me. "Fine I'll tell you a story." She said as she continued to play with my hair. "Once upon a time, there was a beautiful girl named Evaline. She was still a little baby, then her father introduced her to these two dorky siblings. There names were Rebbecah and Michael. The siblings saw Evaline and then they became best friends ever since. But that day the siblings made a promise to love Eva and alway protect her and be there for her. But now They can't protect or help her because she won't open up to anyone so I brought an old friend to help me out." The playing with my hair stopped and as soon as I knew it her hands were at my sides tickling me.

I laughed uncontrollably, and glared at her. Sadly I was very ticklish. "Move, sis, this is my job!" Michael suddenly shouted, and before I knew it they both were tickling my sides. Then suddenly Michael flinged me over his shoulder and carried me downstairs. I yelled for him to put me down as he entered the kitchen where we were all surprised at what we saw. Liz and my father sitting at the table. They both stopped talking as they heard us enter and Micheal put me down.

"I thought since you won't talk to us. Maybe you could talk to her. She's been really worried about you too." My dad smiled, getting up and kissing my head, then he left the room. Rebbeccah and Micheal left too. I sighed and looked at Liz. I felt weird around her.

"Why don't you sit down, hun." Liz suggested, motioning to the chair my dad just left. I shook my head. "So tell me what's up?"

I bite my lip not knowing if I wanted to tell her or what to tell her. "So where's Chris?" I asked chanting the subject quickly. I didn't really care where he was, it was one of the first things that came to my mind as a distraction to avoid the dreading question.

"He's at home. He didn't want to come, I tried to make him, but he's been really moody since Halloween night." She explained. "Your father and your family is really worried about you." It was fairly obvious she wanted to get back on topic. She looked at me with eyes that portrayed her devilish persistence to get me to open up.

Her eyes basically screamed 'open up to me' because that's the kind of person she is. She is sweet and kind. Caring of course. A mother figure. I felt so connected to her for some odd reason. Maybe it's because I never had a mother figure in my life; I felt compelled to tell her. I sighed, "I need some fresh air." I said getting up and walking out the door. Knowing she would most likely follow me. I heard her get up and come after me just as expected.

Elizabeth came up next to me and looked my way, sighing to herself. I turned my attention away and to the ground instead. I was scared. Scared I would look her in the eyes and everything would flow out of me like a uncontrollable waterfall. She hummed as we walked along the cracked up side walk.

Finally after several silent minutes she spoke, "okay fine how about this, if you tell me i will tell you something." She said. I could feel her glaze on me and I silently shook my head not looking up.

"You don't understand..." I said looking down. I felt all of the emotions flow through me as her glaze kept its position on me, making me a bit uncomfortable. "I can't tell you or anyone.." I glanced up at her and she looked confused.

"So it's like a secret? You are scared to tell anyone because you are scared of the situation?" She asked softly trying to understand why i couldn't tell. After a moment of hesitation, I gave her a nod. She hummed in response and we continued on the side walk.

We walked silently side by side. I looked around trying to distract myself with nature because I was still in pain. Elizabeth cleared her throat and walked a bit slower, I slowed my pace a bit as well. "I'm going to tell you something, you cannot tell anyone. I've never told anyone and it's bothering me. Like you. I can't tell anyone because I'm scared as well. But I hope after this you can open up to me like I will do with you. I'm telling you this because I know you are a good person, and I feel like I can trust you." I nodded and looked at her waiting for her to continue.

She let out a brief sigh, "well let me start from the beginning..." she said looking off and away from me. I could tell she was struggling and this was difficult for her. "I don't remember how many but it was a few years ago, I woke up in the hospital. My husband came in and I didn't remember him. He explained that I had gotten in a bad accident on the way home from work and that he was my husband. I lost all my memories before that day and I don't even remember who my family is..." her voice trailed off and filled with sadness. I looked at her and she looked at me her eyes full of sadness. I went to hug her and she moved away slightly. "I'm not done yet.."

she looked me in the eyes, "never take your family for granted. Your dad. He is trying the best he can with what he's been through and what you are going through. I don't know who my mom is, kinda like you. I have no memories of her... it's like she was a fantasy..." her words invaded my ears. We looked into eachothers eyes. Who knew you could meet someone just like you who understand in a blink of an eye. I felt her pull me into her way embrace, tears flowed down my pale cheeks and into her clothes.

I hugged her back tightly as I heard her sniffle back feelings of her own. I needed to tell her this. Even if it would be hard to explain. Slowly I collected myself once again, wiping my tears; then I pulled back from her caring embrace. "Liz can I ask you something?"

Liz nodded and gave me her ever so polite smile once again. "Of course you can you can ask me anything!" She said smiling.

"Do you believe in soul mates?" I blurted out looking in her direction. She looked at me and smiled, "I believe in love. But love is complicated and most boys are jerks but yes."

I didn't believe in love right now, because all I can feel is hurt. I nodded in acknowledgement to her answer, "well I think I've met mine-"
She cut me off by 'aweeee' ing me and getting really excited.
"But I think he's the one that's putting me in danger..." I said lowly looking at the ground. I didn't know if she heard me or not. My voice was barely inaudible and I was scared. What if whoever was attacking me was watching?

"How do you know? And What do you mean putting you in danger?!?" She asked as soon as possible. Her voice and eyes both filled with everlasting concern.

I bit my lip, "he's threatened me multiple times. This is the only conclusion I can come to. I think it's the same person because it's the only thing that really makes sense to me. And I know whoever this is, is my soul mate because I can feel it. I'm compelled to him." I explained and she nodded.

"Why are you not telling your dad? Or the police?" She asked frantically looking at me. Hell no, we can't get the police or my dad involved.

"I'm scared he will try to hurt my dad.. and the police can't be involved." I shake my head and she hugs me.

"then I will help you. If you don't feel safe, then I'll come over or you can sleep with me at my house, okay? I promise we will fix this." I nodded.

Sounds like a good plan, right?
