Chapter 7 Silent Dinners

Chapter seven silent dinners

I rinse my face and wash off the gold mess. I'm tempted to not even look at my reflection, I know my eyes are blood shot and puffy and that my water line wil be lined in gold. I stare at the sink and take a deep breath. I raise my head and stare at my brown eyes, sometimes they'll look like dark chocolate, some days they'll look like honey, others they'll shine in my curses colour but now they're just a dull drown. I shake my head and walk back into my room. Scanning for my clothes I spot a duffle bag next to one of the dressers. I open it and pull out a hoodie, not my favourite but it'll do. Quickly pulling it over my head I open the door, fix my ponytail and make my way to the dining room.

"Took you long enough"  Noah  muttered as I entered, earning a glare from Alex. I sat down next to Liam, across from Alex. I  looked at my plate, not really knowing what to do or say.

"You okay?  You seem a bit troubled." Alex's questions snaps my out of my daze and makes me look into his hazel eyes.
"I'm fine, it's just that this"  I gestured around me " is just al a bit new to me, I never really lived with anyone for a long time. Nor have I had dinner in sutch a fashion." Liam looked at me "So you always ate alone?"  I turned to him "not always completely alone, since sometimes Collin or Lidia would join me but those occasions where rare, their scedual wouldn't allow them to eat with my as often as I would have liked ." I sighed " the rest of the people around were to scared to even look at me, so I mostly ate in silence by myself in my room."

"That's stupid" Liam remarked next to me "why would they be scared of a girl like you." He shook his head , not understanding that I  wasn't just any girl, but I decided not to correct him.

"Enough chatter, I want to eat" Noah demanded shutting both Liam and me up. "Very well than Noah, Jaqe please bring in our dinner. Make sure you serve Noah last." This order made Liam snicker and Noah grunt while Alex just smirked.

A minute later a midel aged man with a moustache, dressed in chef's whites entered the diningroom. A trail of 3 servants dressed in waiters outfits  carrying silver platers of food followed behind him. The servants placed the platters on the tablet and started serving us while Jaqe proudly told us what was being served.

"Today's dinner will be Sautéed veal cutlet, cut into strips, with a mushroom cream sauce, oven baked  potatoes and as sides there is salad, steamed vegetables   and Potato, Squash & Goat Cheese Gratin,  I hope you'll enjoy. bon appétit" With that he and the servants left the room and the boys seemed to attack their food.

I picked up my fork and slowly started cutting my dinner. "Mmh" I let out a satisfied moan as I take a bite " this is so good." The boys let out a mmh not sparing my a glance. The rest of our dinner was spent in near silence, the only sound was when someone asked for something and quiet praises about the food.
