Flowers, dresses, and decorations soon filled her vision. The priest was standing at the end of the aisle, next to the groom, both waiting impatiently for her to walk down the red petal aisle. The groom smiled at her tenderly as soon as they made eye contact. She walked slowly with her father, who kissed her hand affectionately.
"My baby girl is getting married," he lowly gushed at her proudly.
She forced a smile but, it never reaching her eyes. Her dad handed the bride to the man she's supposed to be in love with, "Take care of her."
"I will, sir." Her soon-to-be-husband said looking at the bride with affection.
The priest soon started talking, and she zoned out.
Soon the part of vows exchange came. He told her how much he loves her. That she is the only person who he wants to wake up to every morning. Her heart skipped a beat, at his choice of words. Not because she felt loved and special, but because he is not the one she wants to wake up to every morning, or foresees her self to be that person for him. Then it hit her like a ton of bricks.
What the hell is she doing here.
Getting married to HIM!?
She started panicking in her head, and snorted loudly, "You know what the funny thing is..." She paused for some reason. He nodded either way. She cleared her throat and spoke nervously, "When you told me that I was the only person you want to wake up tomy heart skip a beat." He smiled affectionately at her words.
She dropped his hands and looked down at the floor, then back at him. "You know all I ever wanted since little was to have that one man who melts my insides just by looking at his eyes. Who will protect me and keep me save. That one man who accepts every each of my flaws. Who thinks my voice is like a lullaby. My touch a drug. My lips addicting. But most importantly." She look up to face him. "Someone that has my heart."
"You where doing fine with that list in all honesty," she admitted deep in thought.
His face unreadable at the moment. But regardless, the dumb side of the brain concluded, "But that's not the funny thing. The funny thing is that my heart skipped a beat because I realized that person is not you. You only didn't fufill the last thing on the list." She admits her eyes wide with realization, scared about what will happen next.
His facial expression changed from happiness and love morphing into anger and sadness. "How dare you.!?" He asked incredulously through clenched teeth. His emotions going over the roof. Having his fiance call him out infront of everyone, telling him that he is not the one she loves on THEIR WEDDING for godness sake.
"I'm so sorry, but is true," she murmured backing up at the same time away from him. She could see how angry and hurt he was. She never meant to hurt him like that, but she never realized she had fallen in love with another man. But what she still doesn't know is why it took her so long to come to that conclusion. But most importantly, why is it that she only became aware of her feelings on her wedding day for crying out loud.
"And you decide to tell me on our wedding day!?" He exclaim angrily. She didn't answer, is not like she had anything smart or helpful to say either way.
"Who is he!?" He scream again getting her attention, stepping closer and grabbing her arm a little too hard.
"Actually he is in this room right now," she admits looking up and briefly catching the look of betrayal that flashed before his eyes at the realization of her words.
"But I guess I should tell you the story beforehand." She concludes more to herself while taking a sit on the altar step in her big white dress while thinking to herself. Well, she's better off just telling him the truth.
Everyone is watching but she knows better, he will not leave until he learns the truth. She sighed tapping her chin with her index finger thinking of where to start.
