COLORS
You stopped loving me because I was red.
Red
rosy cheeks in the chill air of winter, throwing snowballs as a greeting.
Red
lipstick fashioning my smile on the first of all dates.
Red
marks along my arms when life became too tough.
You stopped loving me because I was blue.
Blue
eyes lighting up at the sight of newborn kittens.
Blue
sweaters to match the frightening, yet beautiful sea.
Blue
colored my face when I kicked out the chair.
You stopped loving me because I was grey.
Grey
sneakers hiking up rocky hills.
Grey
pencil streaks of unfinished thoughts on paper.
Grey
bars of the cell inside my head.
You stopped loving me because I was yellow.
Yellow
under the new days sunlight.
Yellow
picking flowers to decorate my hair.
Yellow
when my life got brighter, better, happier.
You stopped loving me because I was a rainbow.
A rainbow of emotions, actions, choices.
You stopped loving me because I found myself.
And those just weren't the colors you loved.
