Monte's POV
As I sat with Rebecca holding me as I cried, a doctor walked out holding a clipboard. He had a sad look on his face. "James Sterling?" He called out into the waiting room. Rebecca, Stef, Mike, and I stood up immediately.
We walked to the doctor to hear the news. The news that would change everything forever.
"This is going to be very hard to hear," he began and I started to tear up again, "James... he is indeed still alive. The stomach pumping was successful," I began to cry happy tears as I collapsed into Rebecca's arms once more, "however... because the drugs were in his system so long, he's suffered from some slight brain damage. He will need to stay in the hospital for a month to recover and he is being legally taken out of the care of his foster home as we speak. Now, it is my understanding, Ms. Porter, that you want to adopt him, correct?"
"Yes."
"Well since you don't have your foster license yet, you will have to wait and he will be put back into the system-"
"We will foster him," Stef said putting her hand up and taking a step forward, "we want what's best for James and for Monte and Rebecca"
"Alrighty then. I'm sure you already know how to handle that, so I'll let you get to it. You can see James in about thirty minutes if you would like. We're placing him in room 302."
"Thank you," we all said in unison.
