the day after niall reads louis' letter is just about three days after he pushed the letter into louis' mailbox. he still can't believe he spent nearly an hour on the road just to send give him that letter, especially since he still had to study and had classes the next da- no, wait, it had been a friday that day. but he still had to study.

niall's really worried for his lou too, even if louis said not to be too worried. lou tends to say a lot of stuff like that, trying to be independent or something, maybe. he supposes it's just louis, maybe. do other people do stuff like that? he guesses he does it sometimes too.

but no one does it as much as louis.

on tuesday when harry shoots him a grin in the hall, niall grins right back at him and they kind of high five when they pass by each other.

niall finds himself holding a breath when harry stops and says "hey, my mates and i were wondering if you wanna hang out with us this saturday?"

and niall's heart literally stops for just a second before he squeaks out, "sorry, i'm visiting a friend on saturday. i promised him a while ago."

the blonde haired boy can't help but notice how harry kind of suddenly seems a little bit sadder. (was it just his imagination? was he looking too deeply into it?)

"maybe thursday after classes? we could watch a movie or something, just the two of us?" harry says. niall's kind of crap at reading emotions but harry seems kind of nervous (what could he be nervous for?) and niall obviously thinks harry's the fucking cutest creature to grace the earth so he kind of nods dumbly.

it's a moment when harry walks away he thinks of a great response that'll make him look witty or cool but it's too late 'cos harry's turned around and walked off.

looks like he had a date on thursday.

niall forgets what he feels like he needs to do for a moment before rushing to grab a piece of paper. in a moment, he's scribbled another letter to louis and shoved it deep into his bag.
