Charlie dropped me off at school in the morning, his usual routine.
"Charlie, can you pick me up at 6? I just need to do something," I asked him.
"Sure," he smiles at me through the rare view mirror.
I pick my things up but before I go out of the car, I face him again. "By the way, thank you for last Friday. I know that you know I wasn't just going to have a sleep over at Katie's."
"I know you're stressed lately, Ms. Grey. You needed a breather," he politely said.
"Thank you for understanding." We both smile at each other.

I went inside the main office to get my new schedule. There had been changes to our classes since two from our professors resigned due to unknown reason.
"I'm here to get my new schedule."
"Sure. Please write your name and student number here." The girl which I think is a part timer gave me an index card which I assume for filling purpose. I searched for a pen in my bag but I can't find any.
"Where is it?" I mumble to myself.
"Here," a pen was placed on top of the index card. I look up at the person and I was awestruck. He is such a dazzling guy. He is so tall and his eyes...they are so blue. How can a guy be this gorgeous?
"Thought you needed one," he smiles.
"Y-Yeah. Thanks." I stammered. I immediately write down everything the girl told me to on the index card.
"Here it is," I handed her the paper.
"Please wait for a minute."
I faced the guy and returned his pen. "Thanks."
"Don't mention. I came here to get my schedule as well and saw you searching something so I assumed it is a pen you needed," he said as he placed his pen in his pocket.
"By the way, I'm Chris," he outstretched his hand and I gladly accepted it.
"Emily."
"Emily Grey," he said and smile like he knows me.
"Uhm... Yeah?.. How did you know me?" Geez! Don't tell me he's another guy I knew before?!
"Who wouldn't know you? You're the famous Emily Grey who gets high grades and is always on top of the list," he chuckles.
"Oh," I chuckle as well. "The last part of what you said is true but the famous part? Nah! I don't think I have the right to have that title."
"Why not? Almost everybody knows about you. You've got the brain and you certainly have the looks."
"Nah-ah! I certainly do not have the looks," I clarify as I raised my point finger. He laughs at how I reacted.
"Em!"
I look at where the voice came from and saw Katie jog towards me.
"I've been looking for you everywhere. What are you doing here?"
"I'm getting my new schedule," I explained.
Katie looks at Chris and gave him a suspicious look.
"Hi, I'm Chris," he introduced himself as he outstretched his hand to Katie.
"Katie," she simply answered.
"Let's go, Em. We'll be late for our first class." She drags me away before I could even say goodbye to Chris.
