A week later, after Joker's treatment, was when Harleen finally had a scheduled appointment with him. She decided to give him some time to cool down. She knew he was probably infuriated with her, to think that his favorite doctor would give the 'okay' to let him go under such an agonizing treatment.

Because she felt absolutely terrible for that, she decided that she would treat him today. Hopefully, it would make up for it. She sat down on the cold, metal chair and placed her notebook and files on the table. Not that she would actually use them. Not today, at least.

The thick, silver door unlocked from the outside and the Joker was escorted in by two guards. He met her eyes but not with a smile. He gave her a death glare as he was placed on the chair across from her, the table separating them from each other. She noticed that his straight jacket wasn't on him now. Instead, he had handcuffs on.

The two guards left and locked the door behind them. Silence was present for what seemed like 10 minutes. He stared at her but she couldn't look into his eyes. The only sound that was heard was the ticking of the clock behind her. Finally, she worked up her courage and spoke.

"I want you to know that-"

She was stopped by his finger, gesturing to silence her. His actions with his hands were limited, which anxiously made her want to rip them off his wrists. "I don't want to know anything. I already know that you let this happen."

"No, no, I was trying to help! I told them to stop and they did! Had they gone on any further-"

"I would've lost consciousness and more of the few memories I still have in the back of my brain would've been lost." He growled.

Harleen looked down in shame, unable to meet his glare. She couldn't argue with him on that. She could feel the tension in the air, like someone was squeezing her neck. She didn't know what to do. She felt great remorse even though she knew it wasn't her fault, but she wanted to make it up to him.

Harleen bit her lip and slowly stood up, sitting on the table in front of him. He looked up at her from his seat, his eyes displaying confusion. She put both of her small hands on his face, her touch causing him to flinch a bit, and looked into his blue orbs.

"I want you to know that I'm sorry. I'm so sorry, and as long as I'm here, I won't ever let that happen to you again. I'll stop them, no matter what it takes. It hurt me watching you go under that hellish treatment. It hurt. I would risk my life for you, J," Joker's eyes searched hers, studied her face, took in all her beauty. He couldn't stay mad at her. God, she was everything. "I love-"

Suddenly, he shot up from his seat, knocking the chair down from his action and crashed his lips on hers, hotly. She gasped but melted underneath him in seconds, her hands moving to caress his jaw, moving to his neck and then feeling his strong arms underneath the Arkham long-sleeved shirt. J was angry with her but wanted her body at the same time. And he didn't want her to tell him that she loved him. Not yet. He was too angry, he'd snap at her in seconds and it was too much to process.

His tongue slipped inside her mouth, playing with hers. Harleen moaned into him, as he stepped closer to stand in between her legs, rubbing up on her crotch.

She pulled away when she noticed that his hands weren't doing anything and that he was still in handcuffs. Breathless, she took a bobby pin from her hair, and worked it so that it fit into the lock like a key. J watched her movements, they were standing inches apart and Harleen wanted to be so much closer to him. He chuckled as the satisfying 'click' of the lock opened up the cuffs, and Harleen peeled them off his wrists, tossing them to the floor.
