Mitch and Alex were rescued from the arena, whilst their allies, Bodil, Sky and Nooch, along with Elf's team were dead.
Once Alex and Mitch were out of the arena, they were removed of any scars they had. They were glamorously pampered and showered with gifts.
They got to see their families again. As they made eye contact with their parents and siblings, tears sprung from their eyes, knowing they were fortunate to be alive.
Mitch and Alex may have lived, but eight were doomed to fall.
Conquering the Battle Dome isn't as easy as it sounds, but once you escape, you never have to go back.
