Detective Stevens, I'm Deputy Daryl Lockhart I was sent here from the sheriffs department to help you with the investigation on the three missing women that worked at the school.  Do you have any new leads and do you believe these new missing persons may be linked to the Brookshire Strangler case?  Detective Stevens?  Fucking reporters,  what will they come up with next?  Sir?

That name the Brookshire Strangler may sell a lot of newspapers, but it's hardly fitting for this ones m.o.  If he just strangled them we wouldn't be trudging around this God forsaken swamp for the last three days looking for the last three victims heads. Now would we Deputy Lockhart?  I guess not detective.  Have you gotten any new leads detective?

Well, the bodies are always dumped here in the swampy area just 3 miles from the hospital to the North and 3 miles from the cotton fields in the South located next to the old abandon Gentry plantation.  We've found everything from old farming tools, chains, rifle barrels and even remnants of one of the Civil War forts that was torn down here in the 1890's, but we have not found the rest  of our victims.

There is supposed to be a entrance to the underground structure of the fort somewhere around here, but since the swamp has moved further inland through the years I suspect it is underwater and flooded out by now.  We'll never find it.  I also suspect that what is left of our victims is either sitting in some psychopath's refrigerator or the gators got them all tucked away marinating  somewhere nice and warm.

Can you imagine what it must have been like for the soldiers and the slaves that worked this area?  No Lockhart, I choose to let the past be the past.  Lets concentrate on today's fight and stop thinking about yesterdays.  If these missing persons cases are connected and I suspect that they are, we've only got until the next nightfall to catch this asshole before we are out here looking for six heads instead of three.

Detective Stevens, " okay lets rap it up boys!! The sun is going down and we got three more ladies missing to investigate." Um Detective where you heading now?  I'm going to go have dinner with my wife over at the hospital then I'm going back to the station I gotta feeling it's going to be a long night.

Nurse Stevens, your husbands here!  He has been waiting for you in the kitchen lounge for some time.  Thank you Paul, what's for dinner tonight any new additions to the menu?  Just the same old stuff nurse Stevens, but next week they're hiring my 16 year old cousin Billy and he makes the best quiche you've ever tasted.  I'll be looking forward to it Paul.

What will it be for you tonight?  What did my husband get?  Oh, you know him he got the same as usual, the chicken fried steak with mash potatoes and gravy with a side of green beans and a piece of pecan pie to finish it off.  Nurse Stevens, "I'll have the catfish mash potatoes and gravy with spinach."  Okay, nurse Stevens that will be five dollars and forty two cents Ma'am.  Why thank you Paul, now where is my darling husband?  Right over there in the lounge to the left Ma'am.

Why detective Dan Stevens, is that a piece of an old rifle barrel you got  protruding from your front pocket or you just happy to see me?  Mary, you always did know how to make me blush when I least expect it.  Yeah, it's just something I found while we were rooting around that damn swamp.  Looks to me like its from an old Civil War era musket.  I just thought I would take it home and see what your Dad could make of it since he likes to collect this kind of junk.

Why detective did you forget we've been married 27 glorious years and I know that if you are bringing my father more of what you refer to as, "junk," to fill up that barn with that you have some sort of ulterior motive at play here.  Well,  I can't get anything past you can I sugar?  I just wanted to see if I could get the old buzzard ranting again about the history of the land out back behind that hospital.  You know the old Gentry farm.  Thought maybe it could help me with this case I'm missing something.

You mean the case of the three ladies that were found decapitated early yesterday morning?  That's the one.  I also heard about the other three that went missing last night.  Yep, Mary another three.  What are you thinking Dan?  Well, the number three can't just be a coincidence.  The hospital is three miles northeast of the swamp, the Gentry plantation is three miles south of the swamp and our suspect abducts in threes.  You know Dan this area had three forts.  What Mary?  Yes, it had three Civil War forts. Three?  I thought it was just the one?

No, it had the fort with the cannons which housed all the troops which is now covered by the swamp, the fort that stored all their provisions, such as food which was located on the old Gentry plantation and the medical wing which is underneath this hospital that has been converted into our psychiatric ward.  Everything but the southern wing that ties into the old shaft tunnels has been remodeled.  They are all connected.  My father that you so effectually refer to as, "the old buzzard," can tell you more about it. He taught a class on the history of this area and the Civil War for years at the college. I 'll do that Mary maybe he can shed some light on the number three for me.

Love you honey I've got to get going...static from the radio....Hello Detective Stevens.  This is Stevens.  Sorry to bother you at dinner sir, but we found a pair of women's high heel shoes out by the entrance to the Gentry property out here.  They've been identified as the same pair one of the missing ladies had on the night she was abducted.  I'll be right there Lockhart and get some dogs down there!  We are going to search that old farm from top to bottom along with the fields, as well as that putrid swamp again.
