I tripped and the boy who stole my heart catches me, he leans in for a kiss and just before our lips touch I'm interrupted by a familiar but annoying sound "Lily! Wake up your gonna be late!" I pull the covers higher and with a muffled voice I say
"Whyyy?!? Why did you have to wake me now?!"
"Fine be late then!" Jada hisses.
I peak my head out of the covers long enough to give her a remark,
"you do realize you'd be taking me to school then right?"
"Ugh why are you so annoying?" Jada barks. Before I can say anything back, my warm protective blankets are ripped from my grasp and a cold chill runs down my spine.
"Okay I'm up I'm up" I tell her before she try's something else to get me up. I get out of bed and I'm quickly blinded by my lamp she turned on.
I go to the kitchen for some breakfast and there I see the clock that says 5:26 so I say with sarcasm "goodness Jada it's sooo late how come you didn't wake me up?" I smile but she doesn't. She gives me a look of annoyance and says
"Shut up, Ed will be here in 20 min I'm trying to get ready"
Ed: He's her boyfriend who takes her school but won't take me. I wouldn't want to ride with them they'd probably just talk about how much they love each other and It would feel like forever to get to school.
My sister is a real jerk but ive gotten good at ignoring her rude comments. I start my breakfast. "just the usual" I say so quietly i barely heard it myself as I make oatmeal and cut up some fruit. I go to my room afterward to get dress but stop and look in the mirror. I see a giant (theoretically speaking) I'm 5.7" with blonde hair. I'm 16 years old with a flat chest and stomach with super pale skin who is probably one of the only girls in 10th grader who has never actually kissed someone before. Not even I'm my dreams. No thanks to Jada.
"It's a new school year" I say out loud to my self but decide I don't want Jada to hear me so I say it in my head "Its a new year and a new me, new school"
I wear what I picked out the night before which is some black shorts, a flowy white tee, a stand out gold necklace, and my white converse. I can dress cute for school and I'm smart I'm just not good at being social. I straighten my hair and start on my makeup. I don't do much but cover my acne that I can't seem to make go away and add some mascara to my bright blue eyes.
All of a sudden my phone goes off. Its my my friend from River-dale, my old school, while i was caught up in old memories my bus came so I grab my lunch and bookbag then ran out the door.
Wow. This school is big. Before I can look any further a freckled face stands about 6" from mine and smiles from ear to ear. "Hi! you must be Lily the new girl? I'm Emily! I'm in student council and I'm gonna show you around the school so you can get around easier!" Emily says like she's done it a thousand times.
"Great" not sounding as excited as she's hoping, "I think I can find the office by myself." after seeing the disappointed look on her face I add "maybe later though, you can show me where my classes are?" I try to sound like I actually want her to for her sake, not mine.
"Yeah! I guess I'll see ya around then." She replies with a little smile then walks away.
I find my way to the main office and see a short lady with glasses typing vigorously onto her keyboard. She looks up and I tell her I'm the new girl Lily. She says oh and continues typing. I feel awkward just standing there but I wait. When she's done she asks, "Lily Johnson?" I say yes and again she's typing. She prints out a schedule and hands it to me. "Have you met Emily? Shes suppose to..." I cut her off, "yes, yes I have, she's showing me around later." I regret interrupting her because the lady looks at me like I killed something.
"Alright then you best be on your way class starts in 5 min." I nod and walk out feeling more awkward then when I came in.
I wasn't looking where I was going and I run into Emily. Of course we both fall and my class papers go flying. A tall blonde and extremely attractive guy picks them up, "hey" he reaches for my hand to help me up but I refuse and get up on my own. As I help up poor mangled Emily he reads my classes. "we have most of the same classes"
"That's great see you in science then" I say with about no feeling. He hands me my papers and I rip then out off his hands with Emily at my side and march off to my first class.
