Taara was at her psychologist's again. She had been coming here ever since she broke up with  her last boyfriend. It wasn't  very important and necessary to see a psychologist after a break up -usually ice cream and movies were the remedy- but it deemed necessary for her since love didn't seem to be on her side. This was her seventh breakup in her thirty years of existence and being in relationships; and her fourth heartbreak. She was really starting to trust this guy but he turned the coin by cheating on her. This was a little too much for her to handle so she tried to end her life by hanging herself but unfortunately or fortunately, her best friend Shalom played hero and came to save her and also convinced Taara to see a psychologist. And therefore Taara was here again today.

"Taara you've been here for the past six months but still we aren't progressing. I'm going to tell you something today and if it doesn't hit you hard in the head and bring realisation, there's nothing more that I can do".

Taara looks up lazily at Mene and says, " I told you, I have no will to live anymore, please let's just stop this and let me die. You can tell Shalom that I'm better now so she can stop biting my ass off. She's the only reason why I come here. I'm leaving now, I hope you inform Shalom".

Taara gets up from her chair to leave but Mene stops her. "Taara, listen to me first".
Taara takes a step towards the door to leave but Mene continues, "You have to understand that you're the protagonist of your own story. You cannot rely on people and wait for them to come and save you. You cannot keep crying and lose hope everyday because your knight in shining armour is not here yet. You are the PROTAGONIST and only You can save yourself. And you definitely cannot let self pity consume you because self pity is so bitter, it makes you into a person you're not supposed to be. It is POISON. So pick yourself up, don't let hate consume you, don't pity yourself today. Love, forgive, be kind. You're a star, even your name says so, and there are other stars surrounding you- Shalom, your family and friends, and I. We'll get out of this together. Alone, but together and You'll Shine Again".

Stunned by hearing this, Taara came back to her seat and sat down. Mene continued, "Eleanor Roosevelt said, 'Nobody can make you feel inferior without your consent', you see, you control your happiness. It cannot depend on someone else. Don't give up on love, on yourself. Just because a few men broke your heart doesn't mean there aren't men out there who are willing to give all their love to you".

                "Thank you Mene but I'm already 30, my age is only going to increase, you think anybody out there is going to fall in love with a 30 year-old?". Taara presses on.

                   "Your pessimism never ceases to amaze me. Pray to God, my darling. I'm sure your love life is not working out just yet because it's not His time. Just wait for Him, everything will work in His time".
            Taara fiddles with her fingers and answers Mene. "I guess you're right. Thank you for reminding me of God and restoring faith and hope in me".

"I'm glad you chose to listen, I hope to see you next week. After all we've got a lot of praying to do to God about your future husband ". Mene winks at Taara.

                     Taara rolls her eyes and heads for the door but turns back and says, "Sure, see you".
