After Daniel got done telling them about the reason why he was at Luciela's guest and his connection to Marcus. It was clear that they had their main culprit. They just had to catch him.
"So, why is the nightwalker so willing to help you?"
"Turns out, I'm her nephew." Daniel told them. "My father and Luciela have the same maker."
The Were's stare back a Luciela and looked at her with suspicion.
"Your not hiding him are you?" Gabe ask her.
"As if I would hide that Manmukh." I spat out.
"Man.... manmu...manmukh? " Josh repeated, what's that.
"That's what all nightwalkers are, Manmukh. Void of humanity, contentment, compassion, love and spiritual wisdom. One who follows their own mind and desires with disregard to everyone else. Manmukh." Daniel told them. "My mother taught me that word. That's how you can find out how old a vampire is. The old ones don't like that term, the new ones don't know what the term means."
"Luciela, you're a Manm--" Josh began to say.
Without a second heartbeat, my mind was already on him. His body pinned to the wall as if he was crushed by an invisible wall. His lungs couldn't expand to breathe in air. He gasped for his life and kept pulling at an invisible hand that choked him. His legs failed around trying to push off the wall.
"Mind powers." Gabe told them. "Let him go."
"Or what?" I said as I looked at the remaining Were's in the room. Turning to Ian, I tell him, "I invited you here under pure intentions. And your people don't know how to behave. Calling me names in my own home. As if one such as myself, a Regium, would let anyone disrespect me in my own home?"
Daniel's pale face quickly stood up and went to Ian.
"Quickly tell her you'll give Josh a punishment fitting of his offense." Daniel told him.
"What? Why would I do that?"
"If you don't, Josh will die." Daniel told him. "Since he is your people, you have to take responsibility for is mistakes. Tell her that you will give him a punishment fitting for his offense towards her. That's the only way to save him. She is of the Regium. Just do it!"
"I will take responsibility for my people and give Josh a punishment fitting for his offense toward you." Ian quickly said.
I release Josh from my hold and he slides down the wall. Before he could drop to the ground, Gabe had already caught him and was checking his pulse.
"I will hold you to it, King Ian. A punishment fitting for his offense towards this Queen. If the punishment is too lenient, I will make sure I finish what I started." I said.
"I know there is a lot of vampires now that call themselves Queen or King and have their blood slaves call them that. To make themselves seem important. But only true royalty refers to themselves as Regium. They have to earn that title. Anyone who calls themselves that without earning it, will die a true death with their whole coven killed."
"How does one earn the right to call themselves that?" Ian asked him.
"Something so horrible that they can only be the only one who does it." Daniel told him as the both of them look at the red hair, pale woman in front of them.
"How old are you?" Ian said more to himself than to Luciela.
"Old enough to walk in the sun." Daniel answered him.
