I'll Adopt you?

"Whoa really? I can't really remember my last name either, just know that my first name is Tao, didn't realize it was like that for all of us." Tao says to the other advanced humans as he reshuffles the deck of cards and begins dealing them out to the other two.
"Yeah, well at least you two remember your real first names, all I've got is a letter and a number, hardly a name really."
"Yeah but we've kinda grown on it, what if we find out your name something like Rex?"
M-21 glared at Tao as Takeo tried to keep the peace.
"You guys don't remember your names?" Rael said standing at the doorway looking as peeved as always, Regis coming up behind him a look of concern on his face.
"It's not really a big deal, I mean that's just how we've lived all these years, hard to miss what you can't remember." Takeo said.
"Speak for yourself, I'd rather like to remember mine." M-21 growled as he leaned back into the couch cushions,"go fish."
"Well, Its not like I care." Rael shrugged as he leaned against the wall, effectively pissing off all the advanced human slightly, sure they didn't really expect him to care but he didn't have to blatantly say that. Whatever they were about to say was cut off however at Regis' next words,
"Well I mean you could always just adopt my name. Your already practically family."
They all turned and looked at him with wide eyes and jaw dropped, especially Rael who looked to have turned to stone.
"I mean you don't have to! It's just a suggestion!" Regis looked flustered as he waved his arms in front of him. Tao was the first to break out of his trance and immediately began laughing which in turn made everyone else look at him for guidance.
"Yes, I accept, you can adopt me, but only if I get to call you mom." He continued giggling as the other caught on to his thought process. Regis had essentially offered to adopt all of them. Takeo seemed to have a bit of trouble contains him self and nearly choked to death when M-21 said with a completely straight face,"If Regis is mom then who's dad?"
"That's right, you can't be a single mother raising three kids all on your own!" Tao somehow managed out through his laughs.
Regis looked incredibly confused at this point and turned to Rael and said in a very quiet voice with a incredibly confused and concerned look,"Who's going to be the father of my three adopted children?" Which in turn caused even M-21 to finally crack and laugh as he gripped onto Taos shoulder.
Rael unfroze for a moment and just stared at Regis processing what he had said.
"Regis, I offer my assistance." Everyone went silent and watched the two just stare at each other for a solid 30 seconds before Regis blushed and stammered "your assistance would be greatly appreciated!" And bowed lightly before turning and leaving the room.
"In the past five minutes not only have a gotten a last name I've been adopted and witnessed a proposal."
