Chapter 7: Saving Riley

I stared at the prison wondering of what it was like inside. Was it destroyed or in good enough condition to hold walkers out. Of course there would be walkers in there from some of the inmates who turned or from walkers who went inside there. But maybe we could clear them out of an area and block them out. There's a yard to grow crops and fences to keep the walkers outside of the yard. I had a good feeling about the place it was made for a group to make a camp in. Now the only problem is will Rick and the others think the same and wanna go?

"Daryl" I called

"What's wrong are you hurt?!" Daryl asked scared and running to my resuce

"No I'm fine but come here" I told him

"What's wrong?" He asked and walked down to me

"Look" I said pointing to the prison

"Wow" He said in awe

"Think the group would come and move here?" I asked him

"Maybe I don't know I think it's a good idea. We could clear out a block and make sure the walkers couldn't get in. We could grow crops and the fence would hold them out. This is a new begging for us........an the group of course." He said "Come on let's go tell the others"

"Okay let's go" I said as he grabbed my hand

We walked back up the hill and got in the truck and drove back to the farm thinking if things that we could do in the prison.

"You know we could have our own beds and rooms or cells" I told him

"What if I don't wanna have my own room or bed" Daryl said looking at me

"What do you mean?" I asked

"Nothing" he said

"Okay...." I told him but I knew what he meant.

We pulled into the drive way and parked the truck.

"Rick tell everyone to meet in the living room." Daryl said to Rick

"Okay" Rick hollered back

After everyone got inside and sat down Daryl told them what I had found.

"On our run Riley found a prison. It's perfect it has walls and fences and a yard for gardening it would be perfect we could make a city or town type thing in there we could find others and bring them in. So what do you guys think?" Daryl said finishing up his excited rant

"I think it's a great idea" Rick said and everyone agreed with him

"It better there than here we have walls there and we aren't sleeping outside." Daryl said

"I think we should do it." Rick said

"Sounds good." Daryl said

"We can clear it out tomorrow we'll go in the morning and check it out and see what we have to work it with." Rick said and then everyone left to go back outside. Daryl and I then walked out to our tent and where eating apples from the tree and leaning against it watching the sun set. It felt like one of my dates from the old world. We sat there talking and laughing and giggling. We were having a lot of fun.

"Hey where is Rick and Shane going?" I asked Daryl

"Oh I don't know but it doesn't matter I'm having fun with you and I'm sure it's nothing." Daryl told me

*half hour later*

Gun Fires

"OMG what was that?" I said literally jumping onto Daryl's lap
