In this world, there were those who were blessed as they cried in happiness, rejoicing for the life they were gifted. On the other hand, there were those who were cursed as they cried in despair, repenting for the sins they committed. Hatred and anger filled the hearts of those unfortunate souls and eventually, it turned into a destructive power.
The Yrif Kingdom was a country rich in gold and silver. It was led by the cursed ones who set aside their hatred and anger to live peacefully. None of the natives here had experienced poverty, hunger, injustice nor internal problems.
Many envied them and rumors spread around the world about how free-spirited they were. People from other kingdoms cursed them because of such blessings. The King and Queen knew these and yet, they did not resort to violence. Instead, in every journey they take, they gave riches and food to the needy. However, kingdoms thought that this was their way of showing pity.
"Don't you dare show pity on us, stupid Yrifians!" One woman yelled in anger.
"Get lost!" A man wearing ragged clothes shouted.
They were shunned but they still thrived to live a happy life. Soon, the King and Queen were given a special gift sent by heavens. She was pregnant with a baby girl. The Queen proclaimed that the girl will be a great princess in the future. The townspeople rejoiced but the war broke their reverie.
Two kingdoms made their move and waged war towards Yrif. Luckily, the kingdom had a strong defense and offense. Soldiers fought day and night that it lasted for a week. In the end, one of the opposed kingdoms used a dirty tactic and killed the King and Queen the night before the week ended. The Queen held her womb before using her own magic.
"I apologize for this, Young One. I'll be leaving a heavy burden on your shoulders. Remember that I love you and so does your father. Take care of yourself and always believe in the truth, Thais, my beloved."
Magic flowed out of the Queen's body and was used to save her child and her country. Her magic drove out the enemies and restored her country. The princess was reduced into a ball of light and hid in a chest. She might have been saved, however, the princess was now cursed. She will be asleep until the time the King awakens her. The living servants serving under them, looked up at the sky to see the last image of their King and Queen.
"It's our King and our Queen!"
"We apologize for everything that happened, Yurell, but we will be leaving this world now. Our dear daughter has fallen into deep sleep, but she will be awakened by a righteous King. Please protect her until the time comes." A blinding light engulfed them and the essence of their rulers disappeared without a trace. The servants cried tears of sadness as their just rulers died in front of them, in a war that was not suppose to happen if it was not for those greedy and envious humans. The head of the servants, Yurell, wiped his tears away before ushering the others to help with rebuilding their country. They were discouraged, but Yurell spoke to them.
"We must keep this country alive until our princess awakens. When the time comes, she will rule this kingdom or find a ruler for us to respect just as our dear King had said. We must flourish this country back to its original state! We are strong and we should not let any of their sacrifices go to waste!" A new profound light shone upon their eyes. They grabbed their courage to stand up once more and assist the people in need.
Five years later, Yrif Kingdom was restored to its former glory. All its citizens were happy to have their old lives back. There maybe people who remorsed for a very long time, but there were people who gave them hope and one of that was their sleeping princess. The appointed rulers tried to bloom the economy once more and raise its assets to the top.
