🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹Melissa Summers was a very successful lawyer in Washington DC, she'd worked with mostly the elite of society and was highly paid, once in a while she helped the people who couldn't afford their own attorney.
She became a popular author after she wrote a novel based on her life story. The second and third novels she wrote after her husband of seven years left her for another woman. At the time he had left her she had no idea that she was pregnant.
At first she was devastated being a single mother was the last thing she wanted. She contemplated abortion and then decided to give the baby up for adoption but as soon as the little girl was born Melissa knew that she loved her baby more than life itself and could never part with her.April summers was three years old when she started seeing ghosts. She wasn't afraid at the time because she had no idea that they weren't imaginary friends.
Melissa wasn't worried when she saw her daughter talking to herself or running around chasing invisible animals, that was a normal thing for children.
She became worried when April was five years old, her teachers at kindergarten said she never interacted with other children and was always seen talking to herself.
April also slept in her mothers room because of the ghost that hung around her room at night.“Mom, I mean it you have to believe me she's really ugly and she carries her head in her hands. She says that she's one day I'll realize that I don't belong in this world. I can't sleep alone she won't come if I'm with you ” April had said anytime she came bursting into her mothers room.
Melissa couldn't figure out what was wrong with her daughter. Academically, her teachers had no complaints, she was an exceptionally bright child but socially.... She needed help. None of the kids would play with her or talk to her and some even made fun of her. What bothered Melissa the most was that April never complained about the teasing, she always acted like everything was okay.
“April, your teacher said that you're being teased at school, is it true?” Melissa asked her eight years old daughter one night after dinner.
April nodded , “Yes its true”“Honey why haven't you said anything and why are they teasing you? ” Melissa asked.
“Well, some of them tease me because I get good grades, others tease me because I can see ghosts. They say I'm crazy. Others tease me because I'm black. Some of the black kids say I act like a white hoe. I didn't tell you because it doesn't bother me, I really don't care. Sir Roosevelt says most of them are gonna end up being miserable people anyway so I'll let them have their fun”
“Sir Roosevelt, as in president of the united States? ” Melissa asked.
April nodded. “Yeah, apparently he and other extremely good people get to visit earth once in a while. You know to check up on things. Martin Luther King Jr is happy about his dream becoming reality but he's also very worried that its not complete. Racism is still a huge social issue ” April said.Melissa stared at her daughter, the little girl spoke like an adult but with mental health issues. She knew there was something wrong with her daughter but there was no way she could put her in a mental facility, it would break April's heart to think that even her mother thought she was crazy.
“April honey, do you really see ghosts? ” she asked.
April looked into her mothers eyes, she saw it even though her mother tried to hide it, she knew that Melissa summers thought she was crazy. “Yes mother, I really do. I tried to ignore them when I was younger but it can't be helped mother. It is what is ”
