Then that morning as she awoke at 6 which was normally not her usual time to wake up since she wasn't a morning person you see, her dreams were her only escape from reality but 2 months had passed and that much awaited time had come, the time to travel home for the summer break. For Orelia lived away from Ireland in a country in the midst of a desert, Qatar which lies somewhere in the Middle East. Yes, her name is Orelia meaning golden like her ever so golden and pure heart and she is the heroine of this story and from now onwards, your going to hear this story from Orelia's eyes.
I couldn't wait, finally it was time to travel back home. As the last day of my exams finished, I couldn't help but rush to say goodbye to all my friends- Vicky, Florence, Ade and Joy. I hopped on the next bus and travelled back home from college with an ever so big smile on my face cause family is everything to me and much more. I packed up my suitcases trying to keep my excitement in check and journey to the airport was all filled with glee. As the plane took off so did my heart to a place I love and somehow coming home felt different. I landed safely and I was even more overjoyed to see my best friend Mandy come to greet me with her boyfriend Ross and my family- Mom, Dad and my sweet baby brothers Raphael and Joey. That night me and Mandy spoke for the rest of the night on the phone almost until dawn, catching up on gossip like as though no time and distance had passed between us. We caught up on all the stuff I had missed out and all places we would go since I was now there and made up our minds that a sleepover was much a due. I hang up the phone at 3 am as she fell asleep and I slept soundly afterwards as I knew I was finally home.
My mom planned another picnic to the desert camp and me and Mandy made our plans for a sleepover and how we would convince her dad to let her sleep over the night before. Mandy's dad was a strict man so Mandy trued to convince him that we would be leaving early in morning to the camp and that he would have to get up early to drop her and brother to my house which would inconvenience him and that a sleepover was a better option, so he gracefully agreed. The day before the picnic, Mandy and her younger brother Frank came over around 9 pm that evening and we had then officially had our first sleepover in almost 13 years of us being friends. This vacation was turning out to be the best one and all the emotions flying in the air were indescribable. We both sat and talked and talked for hours about how she and Ross were fairing and all of a sudden as we both sat alone in the hall while everyone else were asleep, at around quarter to 2, there was a knock at the door. As we stood stunned to our seats we wondered who could it be at this late hour of the night.
