They're coming.

chapter 8

James stumbled as he landed and was shocked at what he saw, all around him there were unnaturally bright plants and flowers and towering above them there were trees bigger and taller than any he had ever seen. The forest seemed to stretch on endlessly.

He started walking slowly admiring what he saw as he went. As he was walking he heard curses then a big crashing noise as Jo, Caleb and the others fell into an undignified heap on the floor.

After they had stood up and brushed themselves off, they slowly spun taking in their new surroundings and gasping at how beautiful it is.

"Right guys, stick together I have a bad feeling about this, somthing about this forest just seems sinister" james said as he motioned for the Hunters to come with him. They advanced as a group, cautiously and with their weapons drawn, everyone had a shiny silver and platinum coated sword, knife or gun that had been modified to fire a range of different bullets.

James on the other hand still didnt have his sword out and had put a hoodie on to hide his tattoo because he didnt want anyone to know just what he was.

They had been walking for about an hour when they came to a path that had been trodden into the dense undergrowth that surrounded them.

"Guys which way? Left or right?" After a quick discussion they decided to go right. After walking about 5 hundred yards there was a loud pop and all but Jo, Caleb and James where snared in a trap that seemed to be made out of Platinum that was constantly moving and flowing in thin strands around the group.As soon as someone tried to move the liquid collectively jumped a few feet. Hovered, turned flat and fired its self back at the group. It closed in mercilessly on kerry and joe, burying itself in them, killing them instantly Beth saw this and ran over to where they now lay bleeding. When she saw how the wire had mutilated them she screamed, sinkinging to her knees and started desperatley sobbing as she rocked back and forth muttering things that she never got to say.

The minute that James heard the pop he began chanting in the ancient language of magic, trying to counteract the magic that he could Feel all around them. Out of the corner of his eye he saw both Kerry and Joe fall and then Beth run over and start sobbing uncontrollably.

James finally managed to counteract the spell as it was chasing a screaming Brandi.

James failed to notice the girl lurking in the shadows as she pulled her bowstring back and let the arrow fly. It hit the sobbing girl in the back, propelling her forward of the body of her fallen friends.

James turned, letting his sword come out. The effect was instantaneous, the shadows were drawn in to his sword and tattoo alike leaving the creature exposed. James sent a wave of darkness that consumed the creature, restraining it. He began slowly and menacingly walking to where the now struggling creature stood, wrapped in shadows.

Upon closer inspection James could see that the creature was female. In his mind that changed nothing, he had every intention of a slow and painful death that he was mentally planning.

"How DARE you kill my friend" said james, pouring every ounce of power he had into the words " Was the platinum you as well, you vile cretinous creature?"

The creature looked down at james and said in a suprisingly feminine voice " I am sorry about shooting your friend young hero but I had no choice, you see the witch queen Enchanted me,I cannot disobey her,no matter how much I want to. I do not posses the piwer to break her spell, please sir, help me break the spell so I can turn into my true form and help you kill the whore of a queen"

James felt the spirit in him urging him to trust the stranger so he let the darkness dissipate and uttered a single word. Instantly her form changed from a grotesque monster into a tall woman with cosmic blue skin and peircing red eyes. She stood well over six foot tall and had pointed ears.

"You can call me jade, I was grand master of the first Fae, the gods blessed me with a curse, see I am a minion of death with the power to change form into both a reaper and the great cerberus, gaurdian of the Underworld second only to thanatos himself"

She smirked at all the shocked faces, " come on guys, we have a queen to kill" and with that she started to lead them deeper into the forest
